What's the difference from the original game? Is it just updated graphics?

Looks like updated level/mission design too, and maybe some UI overhauling? I'm not sure, can't view its ModDB page right now.

I've played this mod before a long time ago when it was still in development. If I remember correctly it improves on the existing missions in the following ways: aesthetics, but not changing it; level geometry/objects are more detailed, abundant and expansive. These make for a more lively world. The mod also improves on overal level size, gameplay size and options: more things to do and interact with. They developed this with the mindset of not changing the original deus ex gameplay, map design etc. To me it didn't feel like a mod when I played but rather an expanded version of deus ex. It doesn't actually change the graphics and non level geometry objects. Other mods have already done this (project hdtp , New Vision)

tl;dr Doesn't upgrade graphics but rather expands existing Deus Ex levels while keeping it the same.

I heard otherwise. They did add new path ways, relocated important path items, etc. Early version of DXR is nothing like the current mod. Just find the old DXR version Intro on YouTube and compare it to the new Intro.

Sounds interesting. I guess I'll reinstall Deus Ex and do another playthrough with this mod soon. smile.gif

Patch 1.0.1 released! You can get a stand-alone installed of the full game patched to 1.0.1 or just cumulative 1.0.1 patch here - www.moddb.com/mods/deus-ex-revision .

There are now more pathways to explore than in the original Deus Ex. I am on Mission III and it feels like the same game, but overhauled for better gameplay!

For some reason I also had trouble finishing Deus Ex (in was "old" in 2003). I did finish Human Revolution though (and the missing link expansion). Actually I started a new game in the director's cut. Not sure when I'll finish that. Did manage to save the hostages in the beginning though. Maybe that will change that plot to some degree.

Sorry, digression. I think I was actually really close the ending of Deus Ex when i stopped. I've always wanted to see the ending. Maybe this mod will be the thing that gets me through it.
