And Most of the time spent on the machine is browsing the web. Facebook mostly. Not too far away from the avg iPhone user.

While the Avg Windows user is no better, there are at least more tech savvy owners running windows on their machine. Just like Android.

Linux ATM really has no place on a non tech savvy user's computer, until a company comes along and creates a distro from the ground up not reliant on 3rd party code (gui's, software packages, etc).

Book smart does not mean they are in any way more computer savvy. In the business world, most work is done on windows anyways. Most POS and PMS systems run on windows, the top drafting software is for windows only (autocad), Really the list could keep going on. Hell even MS Office on a Mac is a joke compared to the Windows version (talk about a backwards UI).

Honestly some of the most delusional techie's out there, are apple fans. Nothing Smart about doing no research, and living off a brand name like it was the second coming of jesus.

Meh, most Windows users are purely gamers who think installing a graphics card or running a benchmark makes them tech wise. I switched to OSX because I got tired of where Windows was headed with the whole touch screen operating system, remove then re add attitude. That being said my desktop which once ran Windows now runs Linux and although I'm not very comfortable in Linux it's probably more "techy" then half of the users on OCN who just think they are wizzes because they custom built their desktop computer. Also, just to add, I really don't care if Apple is expensive, so is a Ferrari or a ticket to an amusement park. I can afford it and other buyers can also afford it. I mean come on some of the people here spend 800 bucks on graphic cards to play video games.

Most Apple users fortunately aren't developers.

Don't ever go there unless you absolutely have to support iOS.

I'm not kidding. If you do, expect something to break spectacularly every update because whoever's behind their SDK and appstore doesn't really believe in deprecation cycles anymore.

ok try to find a laptop with an equivalently good audio out.

and proper scaling for high resolutions, not windows' fail support.

and office on osx? i much prefer the conventional approach instead of the gimmick dumbed down ribbon. you see more information on-screen in osx

The flaw in that comparison is this; you actually buy a higher quality product when you're buying a Ferrari compared to the average affordable car.

My friend has a Mac mini, and thinks it's better than my computer, simply because it's Apple. While it has a dual core and 4 GB RAM.
And PC users have never payed too much?

There's plenty of people like that on both sides of the fence.
