[ZDNET] Windows 10 upgrade nags become more aggressive, offer no opt-out - Page 23

This whole W10 'forced upgrade' & background telemetry should be making the Linux devs even more motivated to support new PC games and subsequent drivers for optimum performance... if this ever actually happened in the real world of PC gaming.. then goodbye MS forever!

Even if we started getting the majority of games with Vulkan support, we'd still be 5+ years away from seeing adoption simply because people don't play games from 2015 onwards exclusively.

Vulkan should be supported in both windows and Linux so for devs it wouldn't be a problem with adoption on either linux or windows...

Vulkan adoption is the least of Linux' problems.

Unless you are running a program or hardware that is guaranteed to give you problems I do not see a reason not to upgrade... Just my personal opinion though. Unless you do not own a smartphone, psn or xbox live account, an email, steam account, and any other form of social media you really shouldn't be worried about privacy at this point.

Just my two cents.

It has worked great for me. All my games and hardware are running amazingly great. And for the most part it feels like W7 which is the go to when people whine about the new iterations of windows.

The argument has been said over and over. My personal computer is what I use to get away from all of that. The amount of control Microsoft is forcing it's users to share is alarming. They are going much further than anyone else. This is the complete opposite of what we are use to.

Then unplug your pc and don't upgrade... you are like most folks, paranoid about something that is done by everyone and everything this days.

Based on your own PERSONAL experience the WHOLE wide world should roll over and install Windows 10, according to you, right?

Well you are NOT the WHOLE WORLD chum, hence keep your Windows 10 glorification to yourself because there are still way more Windows 7 users in the world then you lot, so don't be a part of Redmond's shill brigade forcing everyone else to give up their working operating systems for something that is still a giant BETA program, under constant updates and re-updates all week long.

People just want a certified, paid for system that still operates 100% effectively with their hardware and nothing more. We get constant shills professing that the whole world will change if you "update" to Windows 10 and for the most part it will change their system into a flaky, unstable one, far from your jingoistic fanfare of constantly promoting it.

My Grand Father always said that when you need shills to push a product, then you know something is iffy, best stay away from it.

Never did I glorified Windows 10... I said it was working for me but yeah anyways. My main point was that no matter your choice your privacy is being invaded. People are being too paranoid. If you want to be that way then stay away from any Windows OS, don't own a commonly owned smartphone and go ahead and get a secure email provider instead of the popular one. Might as well buy a tinfoil hat while you at it.
