I for one am sick of seeing the windows 10 logo on my taskbar and the annoying prompt to upgrade. Given the snooping and security issues regarding 10 it's not something i've any interest in getting.

I am on the same page as you. It's like an annoying shoe salesman that wants to give you a "free" pair of shoes because your old ones are obsolete, and when you say no, he comes back and busts down your front door when you're in the middle of dinner and forces them on your feet whether they fit or not. And they're tied so tight you cannot take them off and then he tips his hat to you and says "thanks for inviting me over for dinner" while he excuses himself to use your bathroom where he secretly places video cameras to study the way you live, then goes through your medicine cabinet and documents everything in it, rearranging it in alphabetical order.
