You can easily upgrade by using windows media creation tool. You can download it from here
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

I did upgrade from day 1 using this method.

Ditto, all of my hardware ends at 7 or 8, also the fact I use WMC on 3 of my computers to watch TV with. I will NOT give up any of my 6 full retail licenses of Win 7 Pro for a "free" copy of Win 10 that is hashed with a activation key using the hardware it was installed on and not being able to transfer the license if I choose to upgrade to a new machine or transfer it to a different one.

This! There seems to be no clear statement in regards to Full Product Package licensing if we were to upgrade our system. I got like 5 FPP license of windows 8 and I can't afford to lose that less stringent license just for an upgrade (which may force me to repurchase another 5 FPP license). Some can says hey there are always phone activations, etc2 but too bad it doesn't work well here.

If i had been waiting for Microsoft, it would have taken me a month to get win10. I installed it manually day 1.

I honestly don't see what is all the fuss about Win10, if anyone is honestly so worried about the privacy aspect they can disable almost all of the data collection with the several tools that were made, if people are still paranoid about it after disabling those settings then they should not use Win10 quite simply, nobody is forcing anyone to use it.

When the DX12 games start rolling out in a year or less from now everyone that was complaining about this telemetry and privacy debacle will forget it and switch anyway to enjoy the DX12 goodness(if they play games), and they will wonder why they stayed on 7,8 when 10 is so much better, like when people stayed on XP saying it is still the best when 7 came out even though 7 was superior in every way, eventually everyone switched and now 7 is considered "the best", even though 8.1 has some great improvements and is faster in my opinion.

I use O&O ShutUp10 to disable all those silly privacy, sync and whatnot settings + the Destroy Win10 program to get rid of all the store apps Cortana and OneDrive etc, problem solved, anything else that collects data is present in every windows anyway.

after using Win10 for several months now I never wanna see 7,8 or 8.1 ever again, 10 just feels so much better in every aspect in my opinion.

So what if Microsoft is harvesting your data,
The phone you have, the bank you are with, the companies you have signed up with are doing the same thing.
I know 'Muricans and Mah freedom but seriously, what nefarious activities are you up too if this bothers you so much ?

>Also waiting for full DX12 games than everyone is on Win10 like a fat kid on cake
post #70 of 256
I love how everyone of these threads turn into "Why are you afraid of privacy invasion?" provocation. The only people bringing this up is the people trying to start drama.

This is about how people are trying to use WU to stay secure, but MS is going even harder trying to push this on us. Granted, I haven't had a single bit of trouble since I have been using Aegis. I even install new updates and will run the most up to date version of Aegis again afterward. It quickly cleans up any sort of mess.

EDIT: If people keep this up, W10 topics are going to be banned on OCN
