An equation where half the variables are made up is hardly evidence one way or the other.

Just because you want something to be true, doesn't mean you can just make stuff up.

If something is unknown that's all that it is. Unknown. We don't know how many alien civilizations are out there. There's good odds that there are some out there, but we don't know for sure if and how many there may be, and we won't know until we find evidence giving us better numbers for the drake equation.

Just because someone can't prove something doesn't exist, that doesn't mean that the lack of proof is evidence for something. That's the same argument all the nutbars use for all their crazy alternate reality worldviews. I think that's one of the fallacies.

never put a word in your mouth. You want all the shadows in the closet to be removed before you claim there is a monster in the closet.

The problem? When you say everything has to be known or we can say guess about it is a little if you don't prove it 100% it does not exist.

For example.

It is statistically impossible for any given hydrogen atom to hit any other atom. By your logic, the sun is impossible.

If you are not willing to accept that it could happen, you don't believe in the sun.

Also, a true sphere wouldn't be buildable I hear, so the best we'd be getting would be a dyson swarm.

If our space shuttle could jump as far as some of the conclusions that invariably pop up in articles like this, we could just go look at it in person......

I'm guessing it's two planets, or planet/moon collision that created a lot of debris which hasn't reformed yet. Also, if the light is reaching us now, the radio waves from the same advanced civilization building the structure should be reaching us as well.

Could the Moon be a Dyson sphere coated with space dust?

Astronauts say the Moon rang like a bell when we landed on it, suggesting it is hollow...
The dust on the Moon is older than the Moon itself...

you're in luck, that's exactly what they are and what they are going to do.

*Comes back to thread*
*Any reasonable conversation is gone and replaced with fools and the neckbearded farting on their keyboards*

Not long before good ol Adolf shows up.

*edited - It did read "farting out of their mouths" it now reads "farting on their keyboards" for correctness.
