For whatever is worth, I bought the high end Samsung ssd for my Lenovo linux laptop and use fstrim, fs discards, lvm discards, and luks crypto volume discards (in that exact reverse order) and I run debian 8 (stable branch) with the latest stable 3 series kernel. No issues at all. Not for two years. Extremely good performance. Intel SSDs however, I do have problems with. Crucial can't hope to compete with Samsung and SanDisk right now. You can google SSD benchmark comparison.

Hi all, somewhat new to the forums, but an old sage to computers. I have used Crucial, Sandisk, Samsung, Adata, Kingston and the newest one I am now using is the Reactor series from Mushkin. I have done some preliminary tests and find that the Mushkin's are right on par with the Samsungs. I had two 840Pro (256GB) in a RAID 0 config for three years, but found that because of no support for TRIM in RAID, the performance fell pretty quick. I have two Mushkin 512GB Reactors in RAID 0. Using an i7-4790K, ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark 2 mobo, 16GB of Mushkin Redline DDR3 2133, and a ASUS GTX970. Performance has been quite snappy and for the price of the Mushkins, I can only say that it's been well worth the expenditure. Time will tell though, and I'm hoping Mushkin updates their firmware updater and software.
