DDR4 16GB 2666 Mhz - 3200 Mhz - Need Help!

Thread Starter
I am planning on selling my current PC and upgrading to a new Skylake build w/ 6700K, Z170 Mobo, and DDR4 Memory. I currently have 8GB and while it gets me by, I frequently run into memory issues as I constantly multitask and always have several programs plus many browser tabs open at once.

Are there currently any brands or models that are decidedly better than the rest? I remember when I purchased my current G.Skill memory, there were certain models that used higher quality sticks which lead to better overclocking and reliability. I've generally stuck with G.Skill but would be willing to try something else.

As for speed, I've read to definitely go with 2666 Mhz or higher but everything from there to 3200 Mhz is quite similar in price. I'm assuming it would be best to go with 3200 but I know that can vary depending on the timings associated with each tier of speed. Also, does it make a difference to utilize 4x 4GB sticks or 2x 8GB sticks?

Let me know what you guys would recommend. Thanks for the help. thumb.gif
