[PCGAMER] Valve admits Steam customer support is awful (again), but says it's working on it

As a result, Valve has taken to training people itself, which leads to better results but also takes more time. The goal now is to have wait times reduced to an "acceptable point" by Christmas. "It's getting better internally; it just hasn't yet translated to great support for users," Johnson said. "We're going to get there, though."

I haven't used Steam Support lately, but when I did a few months ago, the response time was forever for the initial reply. Before that, I used Steam Support about 2-3 years ago and the response time was next day.

Actions speak louder than words, and I really do hope they truly are improving their awful support.

It's shocking how bad it is. I'm not even exaggerating, I got an email about two weeks ago for a support ticket I put in back in July. No reason for it to be this bad.

They need freaking numbers. I'd rather talk to offshore resources then wait 2 weeks for an answer that has nothing to do with my question. Then another two weeks for another useless reply.

Steam support is some of the worst customer service i have ever experienced.

Was a little off on the dates, but look at this.

I'd completely forgotten I put in a ticket by the time they got back to me.

Who the hell are they hiring for their customer support? Seriously, it's not like there's a shortage of workers in the U.S. Maybe they need to look at replacing the head of that department?

I remember seeing many thread on this site people were complaining how bad is origin customer service is.

From my experience,i have using steam for over 8 years and origin for 5 years

steam had the worse customer service, some times they dont even respond to your ticket for months and even if they do answer your ticket your problem will be not solve.

Origin customer service fast, their customer service tend try to solve the problem instead denying right away or even give you freebie games.

that's just my experience

I have needed Steam customer service 3 times since 2006, every time it has been a horrid experience. First of all they use at the very least a week or two getting back to you (if you are lucky). I wrote this in Norwegian then and got response back in English which made no sense. But after a month or so the issue was resolved.
Second time I contacted I thought this time I'll write it in English and make my self clear. Guess what I get a BAD Norwegian reply. And in the end my issue was not resolved.
Third time, I'm thinking ok this time I'll be smart. Made a post in English to them and clearly stated first sentence please respond in English. Guess what I get in return after 3weeks? A mix of English, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish all in one mail from them which made absolutely no sense at all. This was in late 2014...

Steam, you have hands down the worst customer service I have EVER used in my life...
