What ram to choose? G.Skill VS Corsair.

Thread Starter
Hello to everyone,
Tommorow i will order my new DDR4 rig so please help me what ram to choose.

Mobo: Asus Maximus VIII Hero with Asus front base panel.
CPU: Intel I7 6700k 4.00GHZ
GPU: MSI GTX 960 gaming 2GB i have allready.

My question is what ram to use:
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 Non ECC CL15 3000MHz

G.Skill Ripjaws 4 16GB DDR4 Non ECC CL15 3000MHz

Please tell me your opinion.

Thanks

I'm no RAM guru, but I have a feeling the general consensus will be whatever is cheapest. RAM is one of those components that just needs to work at the specified speeds unless you want to overclock the snot out of it which doesn't provide the best returns as compared to cpu/gpu.

Same speed and latency, choose the ones you like. The won't be any difference in terms of performance.

Corsair probably have better RMA, but I doubt you will need RMA anyway. Never had problems with G.Skill memory, so I havent tried their RMA.

Ive used both Gskill and Corsair and both have great support. Buy what meets your needs as both have great ram imo.

So far, all DDR4 modules, regardless of ratings, seem to be made from 2133 MHz, 15-15-15 Hynix chips (speed grade TF)

Then why does AIDA64 report them as Samsung?

I've seen you post this Hynix claim multiple times, even when presented with evidence to the contrary.

no wonder so many DDR4 kits are out of stock.. he's buying all of them to make sure they are 2133 MHz, 15-15-15 Hynix chips (speed grade TF) wink.gif
