Intake & Exhaust Fans - Page 2

I've installed the fans into the case but can someone confirm if the fans are facing the correct way for either intake/exhaust,

Intake (Bottom & Front Fans)

Exhaust (Rear & Heatsink)

The bars supporting the motors are on the exhaust side.

So this mean, I need to flip over the bottom, rear and one of the CPU fan the over way?

As said, frame that holds motor in place is exhaust side of fans.

Looks like all are mounted properly to me.
Bottom fan is mounted bringing air into case.
Assuming front fan pic is from in front of case, they are intake.
Assuming first pic of cooler is from front side the front fan is intake and the back case fan is exhaust.
Assuming second pic of cooler is from back side that fan is mounted pulling out of cooler.

Is it best to have both cooler fans as exhaust?

No! doh.gifbuttkick.gifbiggrin.gif

Case intakes pull air from room and push it into case. biggrin.gif
Front one pulls air from case and pushes it into cooler,
Back one pulls air from cooler back into case.
Case exnaust pulls air from inside of case and pushes it out of case.

Don't worry. It take awhile to learn all these things. helpinghand.gif

The are a few examples of testing twin tower coolers where they got as good or a little better with fans on each end of cooler pulling or on each end pushing, but it rarely works out being better. And that's on open bench tesitng. In a case doing it just blows air every where mixing the heated exhaust intot cool air and making everything hotter.

You might find "Ways to Better Cooling" link in my sig of interest. there are some guides there to how case airflow works.

Thanks for all your help, I will stick with the setup that is in the photos
