It is a pretty much non factor to me also. I am hovering around 60 - 90 fps in most games with maxed out settings currently. G Sync is amazing smile.gif

I want one so bad but I'm the type of person who hates to buy something that I know will be vastly cheaper next year as more and more screens come out.

Big problem with screen right now. They are all upgrading so fast right now.

Agreed.....I Went to microcenter to buy the x34....and they had a display of the Philips 40in 4k and the air came outta me like a balloon. I am not willing to sacrifice high refresh and gsync. But I left convinced that 40in 4k is the best format for gamers looking for that immersion factor....its just not quite there yet feature wise...

The Philips blows any of these IPS display out of the water. 5000:1 static contrast, no serious back light bleeding or glow. I took this unit for a test drive at the store and was unimpressed considering it's price and weak contrast. I hear Samsung is coming out with a SVA 34' 100Hz 21:9 curved display shortly, as reported by TFT central. Long time IPS user here, while much focus has given to them for higher refresh rates and frame syncing they just are all horrible when dealing with contrast which is one of the most important factors for immersion. I can only hope Samsung and BenQ spend more R&D in order to produce High refresh rate/freesync-Gsync VA panels. Ezio tried, but shafted there customers with rejected panels, coupled with bad QC.

Samsung is producing ONLY the panel for now, there are no monitors in the queue to use it yet so far. It will surely be used at some point but not soon anyway.
