Apparently it's been released in some markets already, it may just take some time to make it over here. It's a shame because I know there's a pretty high demand for that little cooler. Can't wait to see how the build looks, though!

very interested in this build. just found the HG Osmi and will totally want to get this case for a future build.

So here we go. Switched the top 140 to an exhaust, installed the L9i and called in the big guns and splurged on Liquid Pro. Heard great things about this stuff and expected amazing results paired with a reputable cooler like the l9i...

First off, the build quality of this little cooler, even down to the packaging, is top notch. No corners were cut here. Colors not to my liking but screw it. I need performance.

Fits perfectly.

Now, on to the liquid pro. Never used the stuff before, so applying was a little different. I use qtips to remove paste. They provide some to APPLY it. I looked up their video on exactly what to do. Put a thin coat on till it was basically a mirror finish. Put on the noctua and expected some serious results from 2 fantastic products. Negative. Temps almost immediately spiked to the 80s. Idling in the mid to upper 40s. This was with the shell off. This is pointing me towards not enough thermal paste but I absolutely followed their instructions. I'll try the paste provided with the cooler next but I really want to figure this out first.

Next, the 970 mini

Once again with the shell off, temps hit 80c on Heaven. I know this card should be doing better. If the cpu temps worked out, I was considering using the liquid pro on the gpu but right now I'm just frustrated. I'll get back on this tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

Ive use liquid ultra but only between cpu die and ihs when delidding. I wouldnt use it between ihs and cpu cooler no point. Gelid GC Extreme is what I use. Also liquid pro and ultra can bond to you cpu cooler and/or stain it frown.gif Also put top fan back to intake, it will be fighting the cpu fan as exhaust. That way cpu cooler will get fresh ish air. Also are you using the LNA packaged with the noctua? If so remove it. Its pointless with pwm control

That was STOCK!!!

I found the thread on Pro vs Ultra and they do talk about applying just the right amount or temp ranges can be drastic. Also to apply on both ihs and cooler. I believe the instructions say the same.

Now to figure out the 970. others are reporting 80c as well at full load. Not good enough. Switch out pads maybe?
Just dont put the liquid pro on aluminium (ie gpu heatsink) Galium will destroy it in seconds!!! Check the shape of the ihs is it concave convex? LP doesnt spread like normal thermal paste may have to have it thick on the edges, or centre. Dod you change top fan? Also get some good thermal past for the gpu.. you wont regret it. Just another idea. Prob too late but what about an aio cooler with a 140mm rad?
Also 80c gor gpu in that environment aint too bad new paste it will be fine I think.

The l9i isn't a bad cooler but requires either decent airflow or a direct intake on it's own to not reintake the heated air. I recommend mounting the l9i with the fins orientated vertical so that the 140mm assist more.

With the shell installed you should have much much better negative pressure and guided airflow which should also help.

If you can/want to try, there is a 65mm tall version of the l9i called L9x65. Should deliver better temp. Corsair has also a radial aio cooler in the making (shown in the bulldog) if you want to wait.

Aio is definitely not an option. Rads would be too wide hitting the motherboard, not to mention the power switch. Is noctuas thermal any good? LH- something something. haven't switched the fan to intake since I want to avoid blowing more heat on the gpu. I'll take it apart again and look at the cooler. I'll bet there just isn't enough on there. Last time temps spiked that quick on a previous build, I completely forgot thermal past entirely. I'm positive i didn't spread enough on.
