Acer x34 g-sync Availability

Does anyone have any updated information on this? NewEgg seems to be clueless and I called Acer and they thought it was coming out in December. So yeah, they don't know what's going on.

I just saw it available on NewEgg, by the time I applied for the new store card (wish I knew Preferred was changing over) which was like 2 minutes, the thing was removed from my cart. At least give people who add it to cart a certain amount of time to checkout, damn.

Anyway, some information on stock would be appreciated. I thought a big shipment was coming in today. I haven't dealt with something like this since Nintendo 64. Pre-order pages were hidden. False e-mail notifications of stock. Very small stock amounts. Jeez

I was really excited about the X34 when I first heard of it back in April. But, I am no longer interested since there are plenty of complaints about the monitor and also with a price tag of $1,299 (Don't forget to add tax on top of this figure) I will expect a perfect monitor.

From what I've read, the monitor isn't any different then a 27" 1440p IPS monitor accept that it is extended a tad bit in length.

Hmm, we've been getting the opposite feedback. From what I heard, the monitor is immaculate post firmware update.

Yes, I know that thread. But I take what people say here with a HUGE grain of salt. There is a lot of self proclaimed 'experts' and knowitalls who actually don't know the difference between back-light bleed and IPS glow.

Which is why I base my feedback on those who are knowledgeable and also rate a monitor that is working correctly. Not one that needs to be RMA'd. Every single review site raves about the monitor and the two people I have spoken to who know what they're talking about share the same sentiment. Albeit a bit overprice, the feedback from those I respect has been 95% positive. The 5% being minor caveats.

P.S. NewEgg can only charge sales tax (or any e-tailer for that matter) if they have a brick and mortar location in an area that charges sales tax. Otherwise, there is no tax. Which is why I live in NYC, but I get items from NewEgg from NJ so I never pay sales tax.

Good luck on your purchase when it is available, but I think I'm going to hold off on this as it is a first generation product. I think the $1,299.99 make this a ridiculous price especially considering there is a Dell 34" 3440 x 1440 60 Hz IPS for $649.99 (no tax, buying from out of state).

If this was a HUGE monitor I would say deal but it's not a huge monitor. It's only 32.48" in length and 14.75" in height.

And there is NOTHING wrong with that. If I had more patience, I would do the same. But I am in such a need of a better monitor it's embarrassing. I'll waste the extra $300 if it means getting this thing.

As for the Dell, honestly, I am a HUGE DELL fan when it comes to monitors and if they had an ultrawide IPS g-sync, I'd be on it like glue. But I really want ultra-wide, I really want g-sync and I won't use anything else besides IPS. So my options are extremely limited. I also make videos besides gaming among other applications where I can benefit greatly from the workflow an ultra-wide gives. I also have no desire to go above 75-100Hz so when it comes to specs, the Acer is perfect.

Quite honestly though, this is why return policies are there. If this Acer is a dud, I'll just send it back for a refund and wait for something better.

P.S. It kind of sounds like you are trying to justify not buying it because you want to buy it. If that's the case, don't worry. I feel your pain haha.

To add, I definitely agree about first generation items. I always say it's a bad idea, but I do it anyway *looks at Apple watch

Both Dell U3415W and X34 are ultra wide 21:9. You will be paying an extra $650 for G-Sync and 100Hz for the X34. Dell U3415W I heard can be overclocked to 75Hz but does not include G-Sync.

Yeah, looks like it. NewEgg is back to accepting Pre-Orders. I am trying to get my order in, but it will not let me select my store card. This process has been mighty annoying.
