I am not the one saying it in a derogatory way; it's a pretty cool part of korean culture. Esports as a whole are more valid there but it's not a lucrative industry for the majority of competitors

I'd like to know, too (and thanks btw~)

No problem. Even if I argue with people on here all the time I still know their contribution to the site. I never bring up the fact that someone has a lot of posts in a negative way. People with a lot of posts helped me build my first computer and helped me save hundreds of dollars on PC parts. They helped me diagnose problems and find solutions that didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I don't like when someone insinuates that it's sad to have a lot of posts on here as if that indicates you have no life, which is what I took from his statement.

Dont get me wrong, Id love their job, getting paid for gaming? Hell yes!

But trying to make their job look harder than your regular joe, thats foolish.

So being a top chess-master is as easy as being a car retailer?

If only I had known..

Sounds like a terrible way to live. Giving up your life to make $5K per year, just to play one of your favorite games professionally, hoping to make it big? I don't see how some of these guys CAN'T get a regular part time job so they stay fairly sane for a few hours a day instead of being locked up in a house and playing matches over and over and over again.

But a young kids dream! tongue.gif

Granted the talk is about starcraft, but there are other games that don't do that except for boot camping. Hell if you are "good" enough in the right game (market size), you could probably make more boosting and maybe coaching.

Betting is huge, but there have been others that were caught for much lower.

Pretty much. Certainly more demanding in some regards and less in others, but the point is that it's still a job that you have to put effort into, and is far from being "very easy" as the person I responded to said.

Last time I checked this over a year ago, almost all of them were listed at about $40,000 give or take, now they are up to $60,000 (on the lowest scale) so in literally a year later even the lowest paid players increased their wages by $20,000.

Now that list is considered the "Highest Overall Earnings" which means there has to be tons of people making $30-50,000 easily

No I will always remember that a pro NFL player literally cheated to get to the Super Bowl and still gets off scot-free because of his name.

Yeah Jerry Rice is a real D bag. Or did you mean the 1970s Steelers? Or the 90s Broncos? Or Aaron Rodgers? Or Brian Cushing?

Guys, videogamings is so easy.... I get like a 10:1 KDR minimum in whatever I play. The only thing that stopped me from going pro is my irrational sense of fairness.
