And the fact that koreans make you look like that child with the football helmet on, slamming your face into a brick wall and giggling about it.

In S. Korea people cram into gaming houses to train non-stop. That doesn't happen too much in NA/EU which is why they have a much stronger playerbase than the rest of the world.
People aren't quite realizing that a lot of the best players who make decent coin off of sc2 sacrifice privacy and any sembalance of a normal life in order to have a CHANCE at making it big.

It's not easy, people who think sc2 is easy are completely delusional about their skill level - otherwise they'd be in the pro scene.

rolleyes.gif lets not go there, I could easily flip the table and mention confirmation bias (seeking out an opinion you've already formed).

Fact of the matter is s. korea has teams of pro sc2 players who live together, train together and do this as a job. I'm not aware of a single instance in EU or NA where this is true. If you live, breathe and dream sc2 then yeah, on avg, you're going to be significantly better than other people.

You call it cognitive bias, I call it common sense. But hey, enjoy being a typical arrogant sc2 player. thumb.gif

It's not like there's a link showing the nationality of players in this thread (sarcasm, there is).

and Cyro linked to a wiki page describing that phenomenon.

Stay defensive, tho.

To be fair what am I supposed to think when someone links to a page and doesn't frame it in context? I'm going to asume they're calling me out for a bias because there's no frame. If cryo wasn't attacking me, then that's my bad - but that's between cryo and myself, not cryo, you and myself.

I dunno, it was easy enough for me to read your post and see that the only part of it relevant to the Dunning-Krueger effect was that last sentence. Did you not read the page they linked to?

Sure I did, I also think that people misuse things like types of bias and whatnot consistently. Not that this was the case here, just that it appeared to be that way because the reply was a blanket statement without framing it. Either way there's no real point in discussing it with anyone but cryo. If I was wrong, I was wrong and will apologize at that point.

Was replying to the last line (maybe should have deleted half of the quote) and it was completely in context, just with some unneccesarily added stuff that could confuse

Sorry for ripping on you that hard then. My point still stands though, easy is relative to skill level. If people think sc2 is easy, great but at the higher levels of play it's far from easy .

Example: take a plat who find the game easy and make them face a masters. Not so easy anymore. Take a low gm and make them vs code S. Not so easy anymore.

That's where my statement came from. No hard feelings?
