[TT] Rock Band 4's DLC totals up to a whopping $3,926?! - Page 4

This is one of the few experiences I feel good about buying dlc. This is the exact model in which dlc makes sense and works. There is degree of short sightedness if someone hops in this thread and rails against dlc in this context.

There really isn't a better example I can think of for how to utilize dlc and make it fair yet still at a profit.

I love rock band and I'm old by my personal observations of a general age on this forum. I have no interest in playing a real instrument, and this allows me to sort of do it without committing to actually buying an instrument

Wouldn't that just be cutting Harmonix out of the deal for the most part? They would still have to pay to license the music and implement said music into the game, so your idea sounds like it would kinda screw them over.

I think there was an artist or 2 that actually did that! It was like 4 years ago so its hard to remember though.

I'm sure they could sort something out where Harmonix gets so much of a percent based on where the song was purchased.

Surely no one expects it to come with 2000 songs for £39.99, rock bands dlc is fair imo couple of quid and the song and chart is yours forever to replay.

However both the new guitar hero(guitar hero having only 40 something songs on the actual disk....) and rock band have a much lower song count on disc than previous installments which sucks, and the on disk set lists do nothing for me.

Hasn't this always been what it is? There are song packs, and like they said you can use the older games songs as well. For us this was a social game. Gather some friends or family, down a couple of drinks and convince someone to sing. If we didn't have a song that someone really wanted, $2 got us there and we had a good time. We probably spent a couple hundred dollars in songs already and while we were playing it, we had no complaints. Stupid article, I agree.

That's probably for SQ audio. HQ audio pack will probably be an additional $0.99/song.

True.
