Water cooling works fine.

Intel hasn't shipped a sufficient sink in ... well my son is 16 now, so 18 years.

When my H100 failed on my wife's 3960X I wired a phenom2's sink onto it with coathanger and tubing. It kept it under 72C at redline in folding@home. The H100 would hold it to 66C or less, the newer H110 was managing 59C. AMD knows heat, intel doesn't care.

To be honest, you're right. It seems that not only are they bad, but they keep getting worse. I just dug out an old stock LGA775 heatsink, and it seems that in that time Intel cheaped out on cables. The only time the stock coolers were decent was when they used a socket like a large modern day RAM DIMM.

Thread Starter
I have the 4790K running stable at

1.2VCORE

4.4 ghz Turbo on all 4 cores ( 4x 44)

The rest on auto.

OCCT Stress test 4 hours : 65 degrees avarage 68 degrees max
XTU Stress 4 hours: 64 degrees avarage 70 degrees max

IntelBurnInTest (extreme) :90 degrees max ( ran it for 10 minutes )

.....I have ambition to run above 4,4 ghz.

What do i do now ?

PS: i stopped using Prime95 completely

Different people have different guides. Your best bet is to read one of those to understand what each thing does, and how it changes you OC'ing potential.

Then just go ahead and increase the multiplier by one, and adjust voltage as needed.
