EXPIRED [GMG] GTAV $31.35

This game will be delivered as a Rockstar Games Social Club redemption code. Customers will require a free Rockstar Games Social Club account to play. This is not a Steam Code which would simply make it double DRM.

How is gtav? I never played the series and steam reviews seem mixed. What are shark cards and is the game really a pay to win experience even though you have to purchase the game itself?

I personally liked it. Though I did not play single player, where GTA really shines. It is optimized beautifully with friends from basic computers to the newest and best being able to all play without any problems. Sharkcards are cards you buy with real money for in-game money. That's it. As far as I know this does not make anything pay to win, because it's not a special currency or a special shop. People can just get stuff without working for it as hard, like cars, houses, jets, and so on. From what I've heard, people buying Sharkcards are why Rockstar has been able to keep offering new content for free to everyone.

Not yet another game DRM application. I tolerated Origin for Crysis 3, and it is gone as soon as game is finished. Won't allow any special container app for GTA5, sorry.

How big is the cut that Steam takes (is it why game vendors go alternative DRM route)?

If you buy the Steam version, you will still need to create a Rockstar Games Social Club account and login every time to play. This is why Steam is double DRM (1st login to Steam then login to Rockstar). Similar to this is various Ubisoft titles that you can buy on Steam.

Is there any advantage to buying it through Steam? Do you get cloud saves or anything like that that you wouldn't get with the GMG version linked here?

Downloading through Stream Servers is immensely better than downloading through Rockstar Launcher. Not to mention the fact that the download seems to corrupt when downloading through Rockstar Launcher fairly often.

...meanwhile RGSC players were able to play yesterday while Steam players were shafted because of a DDoS.

Cracking offer right here, though.

DDoS? At least get your information right. Steam was having maintenance, and you couldn't login intermittently for about 2.5 hours. I had nearly all the missions done shortly after the update came out.

Plenty of people on Steam played yesterday.

Point still valid.

You weren't able to log in consistently for 2.5h. People logging in through RGSC could. I could.
