Scratching my Head over FreeSync + Vsync + Triple Buffering. (Acer XG270HU)

I'm aware that FreeSync eliminates tearing without the need of Vsync unless my games are above 144 FPS, in which case enabling Vsync is a good idea because it will then cap my FPS to my monitor refresh rate and whenever my FPS goes below 144 FPS FreeSync steps in and dynamically adjust the monitor's refresh rate to match my FPS thus avoiding the stuttering and judder caused by Vsync, basically when below 144Hz FreeSync will work but when running exactly at 144 FPS Vsync will work without any performance loss or any added input lag, at least this is the way I understand it'll work.

My issue is that I don't know where I should enable Vsync neither as to what type of Vsync should I use along with FreeSync, neither I know what difference it'll make,, should I enable Vsync from the Catalyst driver or from the in-game settings? Is there any difference? My fear is that enabling Vsync from the driver or the game could lead to stuttering basically replacing FreeSync with Vsync, Also should I use Triple buffering Vsync or just normal Vsync? Does triple buffering works with FreeSync? The way triple buffering works sounds incompatible with FreeSync, but even if it does I believe normal Vsync would yield better overall performance when used with FreeSync because of the reduced buffer size, or does buffer size doesn't even matter when using FreeSync?

Any enlightment is welcome as I am very troubled with this.
