Hello im currently waiting to rma my motherboard but im aint sure if it defective or just a bug?

Anyone there with that mobo can try?

I have a fx 8300.

The mobo can boot at 21 Multi at 1.4v or 1.44volt

The mobo says overclocked failed at 22 multi (4.4ghz ) at 1.4 or 1.44volt with medium llc

But it stable at 1.4v 4.4ghz 22 multi In windows if i save setting and exit it boot without problem everytime?

Bug number 2 fixed to overclock higher than 22 multi you need turbo core enabled it seem

It like a multiplier limiter

Still trying to see why it says failed

Gigabyte most likely programs the voltage offsets in the very latest stages of POST.
FX-8300 is one of the "energy efficient" models, which means that it´s base clock PState (P0) has low clocks and voltage (fuse). FX-8300 CPUs are rated for 3300MHz / 1.075V - 1.2875V (depending on leakage).

If Gigabyte programs the voltage offsets or fixed voltage values to the VRM controller in late stages of POST, it means that the CPU must be able to POST @ 4.4GHz with the default voltage of 1.075V - 1.2875V. Most likely that´s not going to happen rolleyessmileyanim.gif

So most likely it is just a one more addition to their bios bug fest.

The miraculous Turbo strikes again! In rev1, until they fixed it, if you disabled Turbo you had double boot. Now in rev2 it affects overclock. What's going on, Gigabyte? You must email Gigabyte and hammer them to make them release a BIOS to fix that. It's definitely bad BIOS programming, as rev1 has no such issues.

Well it a misnamed turbo feature that control the maximum multi on auto or manual setting it allow overclocking.

I sucessfuly booted at 4.6

The voltage thing is extremely logical

I can use turbo speed without boot failure but it fail over it (22multi). even with 1.5v

Im gonna try to reach gigabyte bios team or idk.

I can still overclock and use the pc at least for the 24/7 purpose.

If i had money i would return it and get a sabertooh uh.....

Still like the mobo

I found that using the BCLK works around the multiplier issue. I would try 225 if I were you. Raise the CPU NB core to 1.25 V.

I have also run at 138 with 1.3 V on the northbridge but I think it's happier at 225.

After 3-4 e-mails I gave up on trying to get them to address the problem where if you manually adjust the bus or hypertransport speeds the board won't post.

Turbo core option fixed my issue and was able to see 4.6ghz in the os with everything disabled except hpc

(((((((( it not a turbo feature it just missnamed by drunk engineer. it a max multiplier setting or something.. I set it at auto for 4.6 and 22 for 4.4 so auto is probably the best setting

Northbridge run hot as hell i would suggest adding a fan even stock i will add one. 70-80celsius

Im good at abusing support team until they send me at the good place so i may be lucky.

I do have an isssue with overclocked failed after a cold boot. But i can boot with my setting by just saving and exiting the bios without any side effect.

The voltage boot with bad voltage makeeeeeeeeeeeeee senseeeeeeeeeeeeee

The stupids boot error show OVERCLOCK FAILURE ((((((( 4200mhz turbo speed damn bios team

This doesn't happen when using BCLK instead of a high multi.
