The games and resolutions will mostly dictate what "you" may need in a card.

A air cooled 980Ti at 1350/7800 will be a good bit faster at higher resolutions than a water cooled 980 at 1500/8000 all other things being equal. If yer playing 1080 a 980 will be plenty fast. biggrin.gif

The 980 is a fine card regardless and very capable. thumb.gif

His reply is still valid, if the 980 is powerful enough then the extra money and noise from the 980ti may not be worth it. The Ti would give you the ability to go up on resolution down the road but if that isn't in the plan then why spend more on a card that won't be utilized.
