Order Processing Times

I know it's probably a bit of a moving target and a touchy issue... but just how accurate are the order processing times listed on the website? Are those "padded" to make sure people aren't disappointed with a 3-4 week wait, or is that actually how long it takes to get the shipments out?

The reason I ask is that I've put in for time off work the week of Veteran's Day to do my next PC build, and have just realized that the case I'd been planning to use -- the Enthoo Primo -- won't fully suit my needs. I'm looking at picking up a Caselabs case now, but I want to get it in Gunmetal and plan to take it to a local paint shop to have them powder coat the interior with a French Blue.

Is it at all realistic for me to order a Gunmetal case today and have it arrive in NY by, say, November 4? Or should I just order one of the black quick-ship options and have the whole thing powder coated here?

My personal experience , shipped 28 working days (6 weeks) from order. Weekends do not count towards the shipped date.

Thanks, that helps. I think I'll just go ahead and pick up a quick-ship, since the model I want is available that way, and have the whole thing painted once it gets here.

noice... Glad you didn't make the same mistake as I did and bought the primo first.

Actually I did. doh.gif

I did hours and hours of research and was COMPLETELY sure that the Primo was EXACTLY the right case, only to realize as soon as I opened it that it just doesn't have the space that I'm looking for... which is a shame, because I *REALLY* like aesthetics.

Fortunately I'm a Newegg Premier member so I was able to return the Primo without paying any shipping or restocking fee.

I can only relate too too well on that one. IT was the PERFECT case until I tried to install the radiators into it. You are lucky you can return yours. I completely lost all enthusiasm once the reality set in. I just sat for weeks mulling over getting a sma8 but couldn't click that complete order button. One day I just said f* it and just went for it.

Just be prepared to go way overboard once you get the sma8 though. It's a great case but it does have a few limitations so make sure you get your measurements correct, and try to hold off on any purchases until you can get the case in hand. My original $3k budget nearly quadrupled trying to pack it full of cool stuff but the end result made it worth i t.

Yeah, that's very nice. If I'm being honest your story is probably the #1 reason I didn't just go Caselabs from the very beginning. I've never spent more than $140 for a computer case before in my life, so at $250 even the Primo was a stretch.

But oh well... YOLO, right?

If I'm putting a few grand worth of parts into a case, I better make it be one I can live with...

At least I've got an "in" with the paint shop... I'm friends with the guy who teaches the Auto Body class at the local career/tech campus... his kids will do the labor for free; all I have to pay for is the paint.

Sorry for stealing this one but how have the wait times changed over time? I read that their work flow has improved resulting in the return of gunmetal (and white for a limited time).

I ordered a white one during the white limited time period and are we talking 6 weeks, 8 weeks? I guess only Case Labs know but consistent time estimation would be cool, even if it's 8 weeks.

It should be no more than 4 weeks, probably less. Thanks!
