Hose and fittings differences, some general thoughts

I was so sure I had nailed everything down for my build, but of course since there's some time before everything is in stock I start second guessing myself. Maybe someone can give me some input?

Hoses/fittings, I was planning on using 10/13, but now wonder if I should pick another size.
What's the main pro/cons between 10/13, 10/16 and 12/16? I was thinking maybe go with 10/16 instead (read something about being less prone to kinking), but as EK uses 10/13 for their extreme kits it can't be a bad choice.

Looking at the fittings there are two variations for black, what is the difference between the 'regular' black and the elox black?

Coolants, any difference in maintenance or potential problems between clear and pastel ones? (I was going for pastel, but due to not being able to settle on yellow or orange I also added EVO red into the mix of choices (the red pastel is too dark though for my taste)).

I'm going with a slim 420 rad (Only non-EK part) and the 140 DDC res/pump combo, for starters, until I can find a block for my gfx card or get a new one, all I will have in the loop is the Supremacy EVO CPU block, Rough calculations tell me 1l of coolant should be enough, am I mistaken?

Hi, you are always free to write us at support@ekwb.com. Igor will explain everything you ask him and he can hold off shipping before you are sure you have everything you need wink.gifthumb.gif

No need to hold off as I have to wait anyway (waiting for the F3140ER's to re-appear)rolleyes.gif
More than anything I'm trying to occupy my mind until I can hit "pay", and seeing if I can pick up a few hints along the way.

There's no performance differences between the different tubing sizes but yes, the 10/16 tends to kink less than the 10/13. So if you have some tighter bends to achieve, the ticker tube will help.

Black is painted black like our angled adapters. Elox Black, is anodized black so it will have a small metallic tint in it. Some people will say it gives a hint of blueish to it.

About the coolant, no real differences in terms of maintenance but some pastel colors (orange and red mostly) are more fragile to the Ph level of your water and that can cause the color to shift overtime. On the other side, blue and green pastel won't be affected. Our non-Pastel coolant won't have this issue at all.

I also think that you should be fine with 1L of coolant. thumb.gif

Thanks!
I've decided to stay on 10/13 as there really aren't any tight bend in my build (if the 90deg fittings return, there MIGHT be one kinda tight spot). Right now have all the fittings in my list as the elox just because it's cheaper, might change that. One change I have made is dropping the pastel coolant for now and will go with EK Blood Red, save some money to use on other parts, can always experiment with that at a later point.
Any idea when the 90degree ones will be back in stock?

We hope to have them back in stock soon. Sorry about the delay on them frown.gif
