Picture sound and everything else aside, are they of good manufacture quality? Do they last?

Appreciate it!

I have one that has lasted for 4 years now, but it has some problems. I had two before this one that also had niggling problems. My current Vizio needs to be turned on twice every time you turn it on as the first time you get audio only.

A previous one had so many dead pixels it was like a light bright board. The other one had a backlight bulb go in one corner, but it was still lit enough so that it just looked like a shadow splotch on the screen the size of a dinner plate.

So, my current Vizio has lasted the longest of the bunch and has the least problematic issue. And, the first two were from 10 years ago when no one even knew who Vizio was yet. I'm sure the quality is getting better, but its still not a top tier brand in my opinion. I would buy one for a bedroom TV, which is where mine is. I would be hesitant to spend a grand on one though. Just my opinion.

The picture on mine mediocre. But the editor of the AV Forums, Scott Wilkinson recommends a couple Vizios as being superb in the picture quality, but they are the $1500 Vizios.

Yeah we have had a Samsung LCD for 5 years now and it looks like the back light has gone back. I replaced the back light inverter and the power supply but i think the problem is the ccfl bulb.

We really don't watch a lot of tv and smart feature stuff means nothing to me really. We stream netflix with our bluray so it's not an issue. I want something that looks good for a good price that will last.

Thanks for the reply! +rep!

Since most tvs are LED backlight, that should make blown bulbs less of an issue. There isn't much guarantee on quality. A cheap brand could last 10 years and a top brand could last 1 year and vice versa. I personally like Sony. I searched for one, but couldn't get a deal on what I wanted. So, we ended up with a Samsung from a Black Friday deal last year.

Toshiba's are pretty good. I have one that has survived multiple moves (probably around ten total), and being stored for a summer in a very hot and humid so cal garage.
No issues at all, looks and sounds just as good as it did 8 years ago.

My current 37" and 42" models have been good so far, and have both lasted through 3 moves to 3 different states for the last 5 years I think it's been. The 37" one just has one issue much like above though not as bad, every once in a while when it gets turned on, you don't get sound. A better quality HDMI cable fixed it for the most part ( it used to happen every time with one of my cheap monoprice cables that I normally buy ).

I got both for relatively cheap from Wal-Mart on a Christmas sale. I think I paid maybe $500 for both, this was at a time when the comparable Samsung ones that I normally buy ( I'm a sucker for Samsung televisions ), were that much each. I'd definitely buy Vizio again when these finally do kick the bucket, they're good televisions for the price.

I have a 32" Vizio in the bedroom. Works and looks just fine, no problems.

I love our E-series. I can't speak to longevity, we've only had it a year. Only problem I have is local dimming can make night/space scenes go black.
