We are going to find out! devil.gif

What is the bios like? Is it nerfed so you have to use CC and/or CB or can you go all the way in the bios? Also, is there a version of CC that works with it?

Which makes me think they have non user configurable controller, just a guess however.

The controller they are using definitely support load-line adjustment.
UPi controllers are quite good, but the lack of advanced adjustments is probably just laziness of the bios engineers.
If you can, please dump the SMBUS data with AIDA64. Right click on the lower left corner in AIDA64 and select "Sensor Debug" -> "SMBUS Dump (Full)". If you post the text log it should reveal what they are actually doing.

Well he's only had it for two days lol. I'm sure it's no GD 80....is it? biggrin.gif

It's a completely different board as far as overclocking is concerned. I paired it with a chip that would put a lot of strain on it , very interested to see how it handles a post batch 1429 - 8 core chip.. The fact that it runs so cool even pushing 1.64 volts is very encouraging though.

Ask me 3 years from now , then I may have the answer smile.gif The GD - 80 will start to show signs that it's close to what it can handle pushing a 80% load + at 1.72 volts not sure about this board yet , but it's much different as far as power delivery is concerned. I did manage a better validation with the GD 80 than this one when set at 1.55 volts - 5.2 vs 5.1ghz on the gaming using the same cpu.

This is awesome!

I have the 970version of this board brand new in the box for the wife's rig, dropping an 8300 in it....

Can't wait to see how it holds up...

Heard the niko caps are time bombs?

It's not the caps it's the MOSFETs.

Much different than the GD 80 . Voltages adjustments are in offsets. Really no need to use control center unless in you are in a hurry , more voltage available than you can use on water. Not as many options though. I'll add screenies in one of the first posts here when I get the time.

Oh make sure you try out some RAM clocking on the board that's always a good way to test a motherboard once you've established that it won't catch fire from Vcore.

No.
It should be a quite large text dump.

A bit of a disappointing development.
I put the FX 9370 on the board and started messing around with it. Everything was going great , at stock clocks it was much cooler than on my CHV-Z. After a bit a dialog box popped up asking me to restart to so changes could be made. I waited a bit then did it, it looks like the bios locks the voltages with my 9370 on it - Doh! You can still use command center to up voltages etc but that's annoying. With the 8350, you could dial up any voltage you wanted autoing at 1.4 with an offset of that would give you over 2 volts if you chose.

The Stilt, when I right click on the trial version of aida it asks if i want to generate a report, then asks if i want it in html or text is that what you want? It's flipping huge so I distilled it down to what I thought you may have wanted to see with the picture i posted earlier.

Busy day today , might not get much done with it till tomorrow.
