How to check if G-sync is working?

Hi,

I have got PG278Q. But I can't tell difference in between G-sync on or off in games like BF4 (avg fps 80), Alien Isoaltion (avg fps 100), Arma 3 ( avg fps 60). Is there better way to check if G-sync is really working?

Another thing is, I read on nvidia web that when you have fps above your refresh rate, in this case 144 G-sync would turn off. Well in Alien Isolation or BF4 when I uncap my fps in RivaTunner and fps in game goes above 144 G-sync light is red, G-sync wont turn off. Am I missing something?

Thx.

The ROG Swift had a really cool feature which was disabled by the Nvidia drivers few months ago. The power LED would turn red when G-sync was on and white at desktop when G-sync was off but this disabled byt he graphic drivers and confirmed by Nvidia some months ago. Your LED is now always red but don't worry G-sync is not always on. G-sync runs only when a full screen 3d application and when you run games in windowed mode if you enable this in the nvidia control panel. Above 144hz V-sync is coming to play automatically. So do not worry everything works nicely except from the led and that there is no way to see when g-sync works. The only way to see it is your eyes. Not exactly the best way but for now this is it.

In what type of scenario I would see G-sync to work? Would that be fps below 60? Maybe I can not see difference because none of the game I play arent running at <60 fps? What I understand is, with g-sync on I shouldn't see difference between 40 60 or 144 fps. Is that correct?
