Rads= Which is better scenario.......

post #1 of 5

Would it be:
1) Same
2) Better
3) Worse

To have two Slim 240 Rads with push/pull setup vs a regular thickness double- 240 setup with push only......?

Loop would be cooling (1) i7 6700K & (1) GTX 980Ti HOF Galax GPU.

2x240 slim would have more surface area to cool then 1x240 regular so I'd same it's better.

Sorry I edited my post, I meant (2) slim 240's with push/pull fans vs (2) regular thickness 240's with push only........

Ahh. Go with the regular thickness 240mm with push only. More surface area and running push/pull is not worth the 100% purchase in extra fans and noise. I personally would rather take between 45-60mm rads with 1000-1200rpm fans. For instance, I'm running a UT60 and XT45 with 1000rpm normal usage and 1200rpm gaming and CPU never goes over 46c and GPu never 44c.

If you had to pick between the two for an identical pair which would it be and why? I like the extra drain port on the UT 60 but it's a lot thicker than the XT45 which doesn't have this port. I have been looking at both and the EK 240 XE and the XSPC RX 240..........

Seems with the alpha cool you get the most features for your money..... I have seen the xtreme rigs round up on the 360's but nothing like it for the 240's........

Thanks
