Asus Impact VII and Ram clearance issue

Thread Starter
My Impact viii recently arrived so i started putting everything together. I am using a silverstone RVZ02 so i am limited to 58mm in cpu cooler height. I decided to go with the Silverstone AR06 because it meets the criteria i was looking for. I had to rotate the cooler several times because it makes contact with the sound card and daughter board. The way i have it now is the best fit but it does make contact with the first memory dimm. I had a set of Ripjaws V ddr4 at 3200mhz installed an the cooler pushes directly in to the first memory stick. The only options i can think of now is go with a set of Corsair LPX low profile but i am not seeing a set that's fully compatible with Z170 such as the G.Skill kit. I also have the option of going with a single 16gb stick of G.Skill ddr4 at 3200mhz but it will have to be installed in the 2cd dimm.

The main question i have is can i install memory in just dimm 2 or _A2 according to the manual and not have any issues ?. The manual shows dimm 1 being preferred for a single stick but like i mentioned my options seem limited at this point.

Any help would be appreciated so i can order the additional ram asap.

Going from two memory sticks to one you will loose dual channel functionality and take a performance hit. Will removing the heat spreaders on the current memory give you enough clearance?

Thanks i fixed the problem by ordering a different case a Lian Li PC-05S. I will be using a 240 aio now so clearance wont be an issue.
