It wasn't confirmed to begin with. The article is about "if it did have it".
We’ve managed to confirm through sources with knowledge of Nvidia’s and Bethesda’s working relationship that Bethesda Game Studios’ hotly anticipated Fallout 4 will feature technologies from Nvidia’s GameWorks library on the PC.
Sources cant be named for obvious reasons. It seems to be all but officially confirmed.
What are you talking about, I loved FO3's story.. well some of it anyways ... But fallout and elder scrolls have never been about the story (at least TES 4 and 5), it's been about the exploration and the freedom, the world that's built for you to explore. Granted a wasteland isn't the most exciting place to explore, but there's lots of golden nuggets if you look, like all the screwed up vault experiments. I never really depend on the story being good when these types of games release because it isn't what makes the game great, as much as I do love a good story. I just really hope they create interesting lore and make it feel like a living breathing world, kind of like Morrowind, and keep the amazing Fallout humor as great or better than previous games.
Ummm....you do realize all those things you mentioned are filler within a 'story' right?..especially lore, lore is what gives a story and setting more depth, the over-arching story of FO3 was total drivel and made zero sense, and brings the game down as a whole once you have explored everything and decided to put an end to it, and you are left with a terrible taste in your mouth and are dissapointed by the pathetic ending to a weak overall plot-line in FO3.
I think Bethesda have chosen a good setting for the game, and including the Union in the game will be interesting, I had always wondered who they were since mentions of them in FO1 & 2...but with Bethesda's prior track record, I am not instilled with much confidence in their ability to write a coherent and competent story to be brutally honest.
