[Kotaku] Batman: Arkham Knight Gets Re-Released On PC October 28 - Page 9

Did some benchmark, on 4.5G 5960x/16G DDR4-3000/M.2 SSD/Win 10 system.
Min fps seem random, Avg and Max both have clear patterns...

With the relaunch of Batman - Arkham Knight on STEAM today , many users who had bought were racing experience the game after the update, view it was intended to correct the problems in the game platform. But many were disappointed , since nothing has changed. As we will see below in the tests , the results are still not satisfactory :

BENCHMARK

PC SETTINGS : Intel Core i7 930 @ 4.2 Ghz , Titan X (1425 / + 500 ) , 24GB RAM

BEFORE
-Enabled GameWorks :
1080p : 85fps
1620p : 62fps
2160p : 43fps

With disabled GameWorks :
1080p : 131fps
1620p : 91fps
2160p : 57fps

AFTER
-Enabled GameWorks :
1080p : 85fps
1620p : 61fps
2160p : 43fps

With disabled GameWorks :
1080p : 128fps
1620p : 89fps
2160p : 57fps

Warner Bros. also warned that 12 GB of RAM is recommended for Windows users 10. Another factor that leaves much to be desired is the lack of support for SLI / CrossFire - ie it is almost impossible to run the game in a maximum of 4K , with everything enabled . The producer of the game ensured that are working to add this feature in the future.

The update for those who already had the game came out today in two parts: the first , which is the update has 2.4 GB , the second , who are DLCs have 6GB , some users even without the Season Pass are having to download the DLCs also.

Copied from another forum. I don't think i'll even bother with the patch.

Well, now I'm getting stuttering pre rendered cutscenes now (they are running at 32 fps). Oddly enough the game ran well on my PC setup when released. Go figure.
This is at 1440p, everything max (Driver 358.59) Win 10.

4790k (stock), 16gb 1866, 980 ti @ 1429

The min seems to start off really low the very first time you start the benchmark after starting the game fresh. I saw the bench start up as low as 15 fps. I exited it and started again getting a better min of 50 something. That way the min in the result is the true min that happened during the bench.

Nvidia provided the gameworks tech on the very early stages of the porting.
After that, the developer went full retard on their own. Nvidia was not involved on the later stages. With the remake of the port, nvidia put more involvement on it to make sure the development will not get screwed up again.

Seriously? Running over privacy? Conspiracy much?
Nvidia gameworks libraries are totally free. And you as a customer can decide to disable the gameworks features and still be able to live, sleep and have conjugal visit with your favourite brand without it being painful or sinful.
Get over yourself.

Read the post again. The privacy part has to do with GFE and its associated telemetry and the announced mandatory registration to get the latest drivers, not Gameworks.

You know that there is something wrong with the current world when you get more entertainment out of watching these train wrecks in forums and article and store comments than you would by actually playing some of these games.

Or, or ... When people would rather post misinformation anti/protestive comments about software more than they actually play games.

A more useful reply would have been "disable v-sync" or "I've not tried it yet".

This ship sailed long ago yet you feel the need to return for it long after its initial release.

For what it's worth, it actually runs solidly for me and looks very nice whilst doing so at 4K, even without SLI. You could direct some of your efforts to why AMD still haven't released an ED CF profile - Sh. Might get done with you around lol.

Couldn't agree with you more - I have no desire to play this game but damn are those negative youtube videos and forum posts entertaining!

honestly gaming is boring by now

ubis games are just reskin of the same go to tower do some stuff, go to other area rinse and repeat
same with all other studios. hell i rather mine in eve online than waste my time on any of the official games
have cca 30 games on my list and i feel more to start reading the 27 young adult fantasy novels on my literary list than to play any of the 30 games tongue.gif

i used to buy dlcs for payday2 when they were on cheap on steam, but with how greedy they became with the microtransactions on top of dlc packs i wont give them a penny anymore

gaming industry is producing BS and there is nothing to fix it

just find yourself a game you like to play and stick to it. in my case its now eve online and i will move on with star citizen once it comes out in 2016/2017

turns out they're not done fixing the game , new update coming next week

Hi Everyone,

We apologize for the issues some of our customers are encountering, and we’re working on them now. In the meantime, we wanted to respond and offer some assistance where we can and clarify some of yesterday’s messaging.

DLC Availability for Season Pass Owners
- We were made aware of an issue with users who purchased the Premium Edition, and were not receiving their DLC content. We fixed this on the Steam backend with Valve, and all Season Pass holders should now have their DLC. We’re continuing to work with Valve to ensure the content appears correctly for Season Pass holders when viewing it in the Steam Store.

Windows 10 RAM
- Many people have taken note of our system RAM recommendation for Windows 10. We have run detailed performance tests on a variety of systems, and in doing so have found that memory usage and management on Windows 10 simply behaves very differently from Windows 7 and Windows 8, most notably with page file compression. Hence, our recommendation for Windows 10 users if this issue is encountered. On a related note, we recommend that the Windows page file remains enabled on all operating systems.

Change Log / More Patch Notes
- We’ve heard your requests for more patch notes regarding what bugs have been fixed since the last patch was released. We’re working on it and will post these on Friday, October 30th.
- The PC version has also received a host of bug fixes that have been merged over from the consoles. We’ll get you those details early next week.
- For those of you who are new and missed our September patch release, here’s a quick refresher on what we’ve already fixed:
- Reduced frame rate hitches
- Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
- Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
- More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
- Fixed low resolution texture bugs
- Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

Flickering Bug on Laptops when Running in Full Screen
- We’re aware that some users are unable to launch the game properly in full screen on some laptop configurations. This is a specific problem to a hybrid graphics system introduced on Windows 8.1. We’re actively working with Microsoft support to resolve it, but there is a workaround available by switching the game to run in Borderless Windowed Mode:
1. Navigate to and open your local GSA file. It can typically be found here: "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\WB Games\Batman Arkham Knight\GFXSettings.BatmanArkhamKnight.xml"
2. Find this entry:

Display_Mode
0 - Windowed (with border)
1 - Windowed (no border)
2 - Full Screen
3. Set the value to 1, then relaunch the game.

Crash on Launch / Performance Degradation After September Interim Patch

Some users have reported a consistent crash on launch or performance degradations since the interim patch that was released in September. This could be due to configuration files that were modified by 3rd party tweak tools or are marked as Read Only, and were not correctly patched.

Please note that we cannot guarantee compatibility between patches when using 3rd party tools that modify the game files. In addition, users should ensure they have no files marked as Read Only when downloading the patch. If there are still issues, try deleting the Config folder from within …SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame and allowing Steam to re-download it, followed by verifying the game cache.

- If stability issues are still encountered, this article on our support website also contains some helpful troubleshooting tips:
http://support.wbgames.com/link/portal/24022/24028/Article/1065/Batman-Arkham-Knight-is-crashing-on-my-PC

DLC Achievements

- We’re aware of an issue where some players are not receiving the DLC achievements. We’re investigating and will report back when this is resolved. Apologies for this error.

Language Support for DLC

- Finally, an issue occurred during the release window where the correct languages were not set for some of the DLC. This has been resolved.
