I wonder if other developers and games will implement something like this, and if NVIDIA and AMD are okay with this.

Yes, it's like Martin Luther King Jr's speech except for AMD and Nvidia video cards.

Somehow I doubt this will be ok for nvidia, especially now when they have 80% of the market. But this just confirms the fact that AMD hardware is indeed better. thumb.gif

No question every enthusiast here will be getting this game just to test.

Taking older NVIDIA and AMD cards and putting them together; mashing older and newer cards, using a dual GPU card and testing that in SLI/Crossfire then in Multi Adapter mode, then pairing it with another NVIDIA/AMD card.

The testing will be endless.

Oh, we might just get around to playing the game as well! biggrin.gif

Nvidia will find a way to disable it.

Just keep in mind that this was a special build sent to Anandtech, this support isn't yet enabled in the Early Access because we're still putting it through the QA process and digging through a few oddities. Given the matrix of possible combinations, I'm not really sure how we even approach the QA for this. It will probably require a user created wiki wink.gif It should be rolled out well before the final release though, even if it's not 'officially' supported (perhaps you'll have to manually set it up).

As this test is a smaller number of combinations it’s not clear where the bottlenecks are, but it’s none the less very interesting how we get such widely different results depending on which card is in the lead. In the GTX 680 + HD 7970 setup, either the GTX 680 is a bad leader or the HD 7970 is a bad follower

lachen.gif

It's really interesting that EMA in it's current early stage and implementation in Ashes of the Singularity performs best when an AMD card is the primary GPU.

Don't get ahead of ourselves everybody, remember this requires a great deal of game developer effort to implement in the game. It is not something that going to happen automatically when running DX12. As a demo it is as awesome as it can be.

I expect the visual quality of games skyrocket in near future because mixing multiple GPU(but not SLI/XFire) is more of a way to achieve better visuals then to speed up existing level of graphics which is pretty poor.

Didn't think I'll live to see this though.

Found it. I remember this because I was trying to put an old 9800gt to run PhysX with my 7970. Until I got the hacked drivers, my system wasn't having it at all.
