Is that an actual cooler, or just some crazy concept?

There are a few other "Big Boys" .. like Alpenfohn Everest.

Thermalright has done a few

To those who say 35C under load is not possible, it is too. Here is an 8370 @ 4ghz and the same 8370 on a different motherboard @ 4.3 ghz.

The 6300 with the 212 should do 4.6-4.8 ghz.

It is pretty average, actually. Vapor chambers are effective in tight spaces but they have no significant performance advantage over a heatpipe in CPU heatsink applications. More, the vapor chamber is doing nothing but feeding the heat pipes, anyway - IMO it's just an expensive way to avoid QC on the base. Although those CM lines were a novel and noble experiment I'm not really sure why they ever went to production other than marketing.

The best air coolers out there right not are the Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme, Silver Arrow SB-# Extreme, R1 Ultimate, R1 Universal, SST-HE01, NH-D15, NH-14, Dark Rock Pro 3, FI-REEX Deluxe, Venom Medusa .. and that's only a few.
Most air coolers suffer low RPM fan syndrome. If you want the best air cooler buy the NH-D15 and then strap some 3000 RPM Noctua PPC fans to it.

I'm so tired of hearing all the hype about NH-D15 It's a very good cooler, but so are many others. . NH-D15 has 1500rpm fans moving more air than fan on other top coolers. Silver Arrow SB-E & IB-E Extreme and SST-HE01 give lower temps with stock fans, but that's because they have 2500rpm and 2000rpm fans respectively. NH-D15 is no better than many other top coolers when tested with same fans. Testing has show NH-D14, PH-TC14PE, R1, and many others perform just as well as NH-D15 with same fans.

I'm not saying ther NH-D15 is not one of the best coolers out there. But if you want to praise Noctua, praise them for their fantastic customer support which if not the best probably has the longest record of great performance.

Agreed but in far off places sometimes the ONLY decent air cooler is a Noctua because the Thermalright models are not available at all.

Maybe Noctua has taken the ground away from most other manufacturers because more people have easy access to any of their air coolers and fans combined, hence the daily praise they receive is understandable.

The shipping of any Thermalright Tower (which I have working inside my Lian Li case is superb) but the $69.90USD shipping cost was indeed steep.

I understand what you are saying. USA has very limited Thermalright products availability. Canada has no dealers. We have almost none here in UK either, but at least I can order from other EU countries and postage is not too bad.

But that is not what drives me crazy. I hate the "Noctua is unbeatable" cult mentality .. but it's nothing like the "Corsair is great" cult following.
