[Destructoid]Gran Turismo Sport Announced (PS4) - Page 3

The irony is, people go and play emulators with the legacy content anyway.

I say just make it a switch. If you want content, it's on. If not, off.

However, they should not tie any legacy content to to career Mode.
I'd love to see this before 2017, but I'm going to be realistic here and accept that it won't happen.

I think I will pass. It's a shame really. I have/had all of the Gran Turismos released up until 6, including the spin-offs. But having a PS4 game with models from a PS2 game are unacceptable.
Only all of the PC only racing sims released in the last few years.

Will probably still pick it up, fewer and fewer PS4 exclusives these days sadly.

I think the question (to which the answer remains to be seen) is the total amount of content that will be available apart from the "standard" vehicles.
I'd rather more new models than legacy ones myself, but if they just include them just because why not on top of that - I'd be OK wit hit.

GT5 had 800 last gen models and 200 current gen models when it was released. Not sure about GT6 because I never opened mine as I was too salty and bitter at GT5.

Is this confirmed? Very very sad if true as they already did that for 5 and 6. Quality over quantity, too bad PD doesn't get it. Feature creep to the max.
Standard cars are a stain on this otherwise great series.

I rather not have 35 premium models of GT-R R34 yet Bugatti gets zero love. Please also try to license some Porsche models. You either finish the game or you don't include them. It's that simple. That black cutout as cockpit view was a major joke.

I'm sure I'll eventually get it if I do get a PS4...but seriously GT series went from being top dog in the 90's to bottom of the barrel material. I don't even consider it a game any more...more of a auto catalogue.

Confirmed for Gran Turismo 7, but not this. I think this is basically Gran Turismo 7 Prologue.

Also, that remodelling takes time and money... And they would then have to go back, re record sounds etc...

Too much work for no new content.

The cars I listed already have premium models. It would be a case of copy and paste, then add a "special" colour.

Because there are plenty of cases where that's the case. Expecting everything to be top notch quality is a nice ideal, but at some point that means they aren't going to have time for X cars. I'd rather have the extra cars which take them almost no extra work, AND all the high quality cars as well.

They are the same though.

Having a special red or purple edition =/= a different car. They would have had to put quite a bit of work in to make the older models work properly in the newer engine they used for Gran Turismo 5, then redo all of them again for the brand new engine they used for Gran Turismo 6. They could have done what I said above, which is copy and paste the premium model, then add the special Midnight Purple or whatever other colours there was.

GT6 was the same, but with 100 new models with even more being added in the updates (300+ high detailed models in total). Most of the VGT cars don't have interiors though, even though they have been shown off during the VGT announcement videos (such as for the Mercedes VGT, Aston Martin VGT, Bugatti VGT, etc.)

Ah I see. Gran Turismo 5 is one of the reasons why I came crawling back to PC gaming after a brief hiatus

Great vision, piss poor execution

Yeah, VGT's not having interior was disappointing. That should have been done.

Will still pickup a PS4 for this when full release cometh.

Also, while I appreciate that they're coming out with a GT that supports VR, Microsoft and the Xbox One have had almost 2 years of complete dominance of the car game market. I mean, MS has released 3 new Forza games in the same time that Polyphony has released 1 and they didn't even release that title for the PS4 despite it coming out after the PS4 launched. I'm not saying that the yearly release schedule for Forza is a good thing but it would have been nice to have at least one GT on the PS4 even if it ended up being just a port of GT6.

The 3 Forza games that have been released are from 2 different Devs, and they've been 2 Gran Turismo games release, along with DriveClub which is Forza Horizon's counterpart.

PlayStation Yes, I read.

Forgive me for hoping the devs would have some sense and port it
So the devs don't have sense to port and you don't have sense to read... got it thumb.gif

Bugatti has an interior, in GT5 an odd entry from the used car garage didn't (there was no reason to pick that one up if you wanted to race a bugatti). I get your point though and wish they left out the standards even though my favorite car for the series would have been removed... and can't be added anymore mad.gif

None of that changes the fact that we still haven't received a single GT game on PS4 in the same time the Xbox One has received 3 Forza games. Also, what other GT game has been released? I don't see anything coming out after GT6, not even hand-held spin-offs.

What does DriveClub have to do with GT? It's not made by the same developer, nor does it use any GT assets. In addition, DriveClub isn't anything like Horizon since it's a traditional racing game compared horizon which is open world.

I used to love GT, but man the sounds of the engines are horrible. That plays a huge role for me in a racing game.
