I'm honestly not sure how you missed the middle tongue.gif

I used dot method before, and this time i used artic silver 5 line method.

Edit going to try 4ghz setup...

Edit2: didnt work with 1.27vcore for 4ghz, crashed on 4th run intelburntest. Max tem never went more than 58 elsius.
Trying with 1.26vcore, also crashed.

What should i do?

Edit3: looks like my i7 950 doesnt like high volts, whenever i go beyone 1.2vcore it crashes all tests.
Going to try everything on default and bcloxk to 157 to give 3.6ghz, volts will stay at 1.18vcore..lets see.?

Edit4: crashed right away..reverting back to 148 bclock 3.4ghz everything on default 1.05 vcore. Testing now intel burntest high

Guys it crashed on the 9th run wih temps of 45 maximum. Now this is starting to look way more complicated.
Now im all lost again.

Temperatures never go beyond 58 celsius on every test i did till now.

i tried 4ghz, 3.8. 3.6, even the stable 3.4ghz from the first time.

When i tried the 4ghz with 1.3vcore it crashed and the temps didnt reach 60celsius.

Am i missing something now?
But now i know if vcore is to low i get the new w10 bsod. So thats new.

Edit: 1.2vcpre 3.6ghz max temp of 57 crashed on 4th run...

Edit2: crashed with 1.19vcore 3.6ghz, max tem core 0 was 54.
Next time it crashes im giving up the whole thing.

Edit3 whenever i up the vcore it get less and less stable. Odd

Edit 4: temps reaching 55 clesius and it still crashez, unbelievable

Now check the VRM heat.

That said, it's not always temperatures that cause an OC to fail. Each CPU is like a snowflake. The same settings that work for one wont work for another, even given exact same hardware configs.

Once you reach a certain stable point on your OC, you may have to start messing with the NB and SB voltages/multipliers before you go back to the CPU. Sometimes you cant get to your goal in a straight line. Sometimes you have to flip all the switches before you get the bi... never mind, you get the idea. Study up on some more overclocking articles. You may have more life to squeeze out of the ol girl.
