Unless they enable command list support they'll always suck VS Nvidia.

AMD's drivers are still basically single core. redface.gif They can redesign the UI all they want, but until they suck it up and take the time and effort required to support command lists for new and old games... they'll always fall behind.

You guys should chip in on my AMD Drivers The Real Truth Thread (see sig). Apparently, certain users on that thread don't think AMD drivers have any CPU overhead despite all the evidence I've provided. I've been arguing overhead issues for the past 5 years.

That's called beating a dead horse. Some people just can't handle the truth. I just hope AMD can, because if they won't admit the problems they have internally how can they even hope to fix them?
I think that's what they're doing with the restructuring and changes, they know there's a problem and they're trying to fix it. I think they'll be successful. Why? Well up until recently they haven't even tried, so now that they are actually trying something is bound to happen. That's where their poor record comes from, a complete lack of effort with these issues. You could predict that they'd fail again as usual, but the behavior of the company is clearly changing. There's a lot that's been going on behind the scenes lately. We're just now seeing it start to filter outward. smile.gif

check out post #195 . . .

here, the less cpu overhead does not do a leak of help . . .

http://www.overclock.net/t/1577136/i7-2600k-hyper-threading-and-gaming-question#post_24517404

and then, you have to deal with TDRs. who wants that? lol

http://www.techspot.com/review/1081-dx11-vs-dx12-ashes/page5.html

DX12

6700k + 980ti = 87 fps
6700k + FuryX = 84 fps

DX11

6700k + 980ti = 86 fps
6700k + FuryX = 61 fps

If you don't see how AMD's awful DX11 driver is performing because of overhead then you're simply biased beyond reason.

Yet another textbook response from the mature and highly intellectual rdr09. Such a shining example to us all.

Edit: I am sure he is now going to view "all posts by BradleyW" to find something to use in response. He has the time for such things.....
