[WCCFtech]AMD Omega 'Special Drivers' Version 2.0 release in November - Page 8

I'm going to have to look into all the gibberish (to me atm redface.gif ) video you guys are playing with...VLC works fine for me but hey if you can make pron eh, gotham and the like look better then I'm all for it! biggrin.gif

Anywho, I wonder if these will come with a working hdmi audio driver ... and let me play Shadow of Mordor with cfx.

Insta crash in game with a memory error black screen or load lock, benches fine ultra avg 50, top 137 low 11. on low avg 60 high 150 low 30. it looks like ass on low though lachen.gif

Fine single card, swapped them, fine. Tried dicking about with settings and couldn't find what was causing it

Running the HD textures quite happily (afaik, looks like they're enabled and it looks awesome, did this after giving up on cfx so not the problem) with the stuttering only when getting heavy mobbed on one card tongue.gif

Not saying that's where playback issues and strange formats come from but...whistle.gif

Yea that right there is why I "avoid" AMD or tend to have Nvidia as a first choice at least. Not that Nvidia doesn't have their FAIR SHARE of issues, but nothing ever quite like that. Other devices, etc. always work. Well, aside from the new stuff (G-Sync). AMD has an HDMI audio issue? Yea that's something we should expect from a no name $20 audio card driver, not an AMD driver. Please somebody tell me this isn't in my head? Not to start a heated debate (as that didn't go over well last time) but that's pretty much where things are at, right?

I do like the idea of how AMD is releasing their drivers, kinda like how Apple releases a new IOS every year, and then improvements throughout the year, and then a big improvement/new features, and continuing on.

I'd like to agree on this point, but FFDShow's development is pretty much dead (even FFDShow Tryouts, the branch that SVP uses) and is surpassed by LAV Filters in almost every way. I know I'm not the only one who's wanted SVP to move away from FFDShow, and the SVP thread here on OCN will show that clearly.

SVP 4 uses LAV filters. The FFDShow raw video filter is there to run SVP's AviSynth script, but you can also use it to insert other AviSynth/FFDShow effects.

I never use any of FFDShow's other internal features though. The AviSynth scripts I've found generally do a better job than FFDShow's video filters.

My Fury X kicks out 5.1 to my DN-500AV just fine. Pretty sure I'm on 15.7 still. Interestingly enough, yes, I use VLC as my main media player as it's speaker replication is nice for my 2 channel music.

Otherwise... Woo, Omega 2.0! The first Omegas were awesome, tons of new features packed in.

The last time I asked they said it wasn't possible to switch to LAV and because they needed some raw output from FFDshow. Got a source for me to read about this? I've been wanting this for a long time!

That's a nice strawman you've got there. Shame if anyone happened to, say, set it on fire.
