VRM Chip Cooling (MSI 970A G43)

Hey peoplez

I have an MSI 970A G43 motherboard. I read that this board has no VRM cooling and that the VRM can overheat at a little bit higher voltages.

So I would like to know... where can I see the VRM temp in HW Monitor? (I dont want to buy a laser temp gun just for this measurement).

Will these: Thermalright HR-09U-2 Mosfet Heatsink Type 2

Work to cool my VRM Temperatures on my specific motherboard?

Thx in advance

your board does not support VRM temp monitoring.

Not a good idea, there isn't a heatsink on those vrms, you're asking for trouble

edit: instead of messing around with a board that doesn't monitor vrms, and trying to rig up heatsinks, i would recommend a new board

heres a really decent board for a good price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874 you'll be better off

That one is a little bit above my budget. What about the MSI 970 Gaming?

I see it has good reviews...

The one i linked is cheaper than that after rebate. Plus if you wanted to eventually upgrade to a 8xxx series cpu you will be better off with the 990fx chipset

Here where I live in South Africa I can get the MSI 970 Gaming for R1799 and the other one is R2 000 plus.

i didn't realize you where you were from. It is a nice board but with the 970 chipset, you're overclocking ability is limited
