MSI GS60 not charging

Thread Starter
The laptop is around half a year old. I stopped using the laptop for a few weeks and I had left it on sleep. Obviously the battery would have drained to 0. Now when I plug the power in, the battery indicator flashes orange and it says in Windows 0% not charging. I assume my battery has somehow died between me leaving it on sleep a few weeks back until now. I have done this a few times before where I've left it on sleep but not for several week and it worked with no problem. I tried the battery calibration but it just shuts the laptop down. How could this have happened?

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? I used to have this issue sometimes with my old Dell Mini 9

Also you may want to try a BIOS update, that may also help

Unremovable battery frown.gif. I'll see if there is a BIOS update.

EDIT: Updated BIOS but no difference.

Hello please, have you resolved this somehow?

It started today it was 45% plugged in, states it!s charging, but it stayed on 45% for an hour.

then I moved my laptop and used a battery for like 30 minutes and I've got to 9%.

Iˇm not able to recharge the battery, because it's going only down, or not at all when plugged in.

Thank you.

No unfortunately I haven't. I'm pretty sure my battery is just dead. I am just having make do with making sure there is a power plug nearby before I get a new device. Can you still use the laptop at 0%?

Yeah, might as well just take it out unless there are feet located under it

EDIT: forgot about the battery bit, been a while since I saw this thread

Just make sure there isnt any swelling
