The story's still the same, regardless. These are the latest set of Techpowerup comparative benches either way. It wouldn't matter even if this wasn't a Lightning 980 Ti review, relative percentages are relative percentages regardless of what card is the 100% reference. If anything, doing this to the Lightning makes it easier for mathematically illiterate people to see the difference between 100 and 80% and think the Lightning only has a 20% advantage when it's really 25%. As opposed to setting the reference 980 Ti as the 100% reference and the Lightning as the 125% at 4K, for instance (or like the 960 as 100% and the Lightning 980 Ti as 322.5% for really inflated marketing numbers). As such, I don't see how the 100% reference could imply a marketing stunt or bias even if this wasn't a Lightning review.Edited by Serandur - 10/28/15 at 6:21pm
