Windows 7 vs 10

I play games and browse the internet. Which option is better for me ? windows 7 or 10 ?
i heard decent stuff about windows 10 in comparison of windows7
but i hear worst things about windows 10 in comparison of windows 7
so which is actually better ?
Both systems are good. If you already have windows 7 installed, then just keep it, unless you have some kind of an issue which forces you to do complete reinstall, there's absolutely no point in going for windows 10 right away. Don't make your self more problems.
You also still have a bit less than a year for free upgrade. Not to mention Windows 10 Threshold 2 (aka service pack) to be released in 3-4 days anyways.

Try it out for yourself. You can always revert if you don't like it.

how do i download windows 10 service pack? is it through the window 10 update?
If your Win7 is updated with the latest updates, it should be prompting you to upgrade to Win10. There will be an icon in the traybar like this:

If it still doesnt prompt you, there are ways to force it- https://techjourney.net/force-trigger-download-and-install-of-windows-10-free-upgrade-kb3012973/

Since you play games, you probably should upgrade to Win10 eventually for DX12 support but there's nothing that really requires that yet. Although if your going to wait there is a time limit on the free Win10 upgrade which expires July 29, 2016. I'm not sure MS would enforce this since MS seems to want to force everyone to upgrade so the offer might get extended.

As far as I know you still need to use Windows Update to register your PC for Windows 10.

- Makes sure your fresh install of Win7 has been activated online.
- Perform Windows Update. You will basically need to bring your Win7 install up-to-date with patches before the GWX (Get Windows Ten) app will install and register your free upgrade eligibility.
- After GXW registers your PC as eligible for Win10, it will prompt to download and install Win10. Alternatively you can download and create a Win10 DVD or bootable usb using the WIndows 10 Media Creation Tool if you would rather install Win10 that way.

You can do a clean install Win10 with DVD or USB device but if GWX never registered your previous software key &hardware profile on the MS servers then you wont be able to activate Win10.

Putting the security risks of 10 aside I'd say don't upgrade yet, there are lots of problems still with it. If you look on these forums you'll see lots of people complaining about Win 10 doing weird things as MS have released it too soon and with a lot of features that should not have been included in the first place.

Win 10 does look nice but it needs getting used to after 7 and especially 8.
