I have no notable aliasing on my 5" 720p screen, and I call nonsense on your claim because most people sit in front of a computer/TV that has way lower DPI than a 5" 1080p screen. I use 1080p 23" at home and work. You yourself have 27" 1080p monitor, why don't you run 4k?
While the high pixel desitiy is a nice, its like the camera megapixel gimmick, almost no one needs that resolution of a 20MP camera, better image senors and lense would improve the image quality vastly more than pushing the MP. If you really need such high resolution images, you probably using more professional camera technology.
But pushing resolution of the screens and camera's looks impressive when you marketing the device

I agree with your point that most people don't know how to use an android. Some of that is due to it allows you to do more. Some of it is because it's cheaper, and less educated people have less to spend on a smart phonephone, much less how to Google "how to back up insert phone model here" .

Typing on mobile, so I won't elaborate too much. I think you are voicing your personal experience and personal opinion and not looking at all the details

While I want to disagree with the vain and stupid, I do find some truth in that. If you look back 2-5 years ago, iPhones were the trendy thing. Their marketing team was Spot On. One thing that keeps people with iPhones is that they are invested into that ecosystem. They already have the apps and music they bought from it, if they switch over they lose all that. I wouldnt call them stupid, you could argue ignorant a few years ago, but with all the news headlines of security problems with them, people understand they are just as vulnerable as the others. The way I see it, if you have a Mac, go iPhone. If you have a windows or linux PC, go Andriod (or windows i guess).

As for market share...iOS has been declining year over year, and has been behind Android for a year now.. https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=8&qpcustomd=1 They were first in the game really. They got a huge head start over everyone else and they did it well. It has been several years and the other people are now caught up.

Apple does not listen to their customers, they just do what they think needs to be done. While I personally dislike that mentality, I do understand the merit that goes with it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Apple can make a premium on their product because they have a monopoly on it. If you want an iOS phone, you must buy their phone. They dont have to worry about Samsung creating a cheaper version of their own phone because they cant sell an iOS phone. The sames goes with their computers. If you want OSX, you gotta buy a Mac. If you want a windows PC, well you have 10 different companies that produce the same thing with different cases. They all keep undercutting each other until they cant make any money from them.

Apple charges a lot more for their stuff, but they also are notorious for having great service especially when compared to other makers. Some people are willing to pay 40% more having that luxury.

LG's software department is surely one of the slowest. They deemed 5.1 not worthy to implement to G3. Supposedly they will do the next iteration, god knows when.

True.

Look at all the garbage 4k TN panels and you will see that a top flight S-IPS / IPS screen with only 1080p resolution or even an OLED screen @ 1080p will look better. Image definition is mostly defined by the leading edge on a high contrast pixel, contrast and color fidelity matter more than overall pixels past a certain point. That's why by and large unless we are talking really freaking big screens, having 16 x 1080p monitors crammed into anything that can fit onto a desk, including near 60" monitors is going to be largely wasted at 8k unless your nose upto the screen.

its all about marketing numbers. Wait until 8k becomes another almost pointless thing

Hope nothing causes them to shut it down, my G3 is the best phone I have ever owned. Also the strongest, dropped it 4 times from 5' flat on the screen to pavement no scratches no cracks. Thing is a tank.

I did notice a difference going from my HTC One M7 (1920x1080 @4.7" 468PPI) to my LG G4 (2560x1440 @ 5.5" 538PPI). Only by comparing side-to-side though. I don't really mind 1440p in phones, and have never had issues with battery life neither redface.gif

It still was not the driving reason for me getting this phone, it's just a nice feature to have and not something I specifically sought after.

Yea I love my G3 too. Camera is great. Screen is super sharp. Removable battery and SD card slot. Battery fully charges in 1.5 hours. IR blaster. NFC and wireless charging. Thin bezels make it easier to hold than other 5.5 inch screen phones. Easy to take apart and repair. Heck I even get 5 hours of screen on time. Can't find a thing wrong with this phone.
