980Ti core speed quick question

Thread Starter
just wondering, is the core clock of my 980Ti's suppose to drop way down when in 2D mode? seems like when at idle or 2D my core speed is 1101Mhz on both cards... Game mode obviously goes up to 1443MHz. Just wondering about this cause my 290's when down to 300mhz when in 2d mode... Thanks

mine is not doing that at all.... guess ill format PC anyways and start fresh... MANY MANY MANY ATI drivers on this current install, so maybe something is jacked up somewhere. my cards only go to 1102 on idle. When i get my Sammy 950 pro drive, win10 will get a fresh install.

Put refresh rate @ 119 refresh or it wont go in power saver mode. also if you got a 2nd monitor it wont aswell....

Needs to be a single monitor and under 119 refresh rate. to go into power saver mode.

Check and see in Nvidia control panel if power management setting is adaptive or prefer maximum performance! That may change it. However, you will have to make profiles for each game and set max performance in each profile. Or just go to global and set to max before you game etc.
