Triple 1440P Dell U2715H

My employer is buying me a home work station so I can do remote work off hours. Believe it or not they are putting 3 dell U2715 monitors 1440P on my desktop.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260234

The GPU they have selected is the EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+

They are going to run display port with daisy chain I assume

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088

The base workstation they have selected is this Intel Xenon set up HP Workstation Z440 - Xeon E5-1620V3 3.5 GHz

https://www.cdwg.com/shop/products/HP-Workstation-Z440-Xeon-E5-1620V3-3.5-GHz-8-GB-1-TB-US/3515888.aspx?cm_mmc=email-_-SPS_Order_Confirm-_-Body-_-Browse_Products

Do you all thing there would be any chance of doing 1440P gaming on such a set up ?

I have a home gaming PC but I dont think its going to run triple 1440p.

My home set up is as follows:

Asus R9 280x
Asus sabertooth 990FX MOBO
AMD 8350 CPU
Samsung SSD's
Big Ass PSU
8GB G Skill Sniper Ram

Maybe I could throw a high end GPU in my home set up and piggy back it onto my work PC monitors.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

HR

A GTX 970 would be fine at 1440p. It won't be maxing a lot of titles out but it should run nicely.

EDIT: Did you mean triple 1440p? If so, one card won't cut it.

Thanks, yes Triple 1440p for normal desktop function word processing ect on the GTX 970.

Gaming with triple 1440p would be great but I didn't think that a single card could do that.

I would like to get a card solution for my desktop PC that I could link into the triple monitor set up and do triple 1440p gaming at a decent frame rate. A single card solution would be great but that would be something like the titan-Z. Maybe I need dual 980ti's.

I ended up going EVGA 980ti classified in SLI. I got my cards installed last night. It runs very well, BF4 on ultra runs 100fps. This is my first SLI experience. I will need to do some tweaking.

Sounds awesome. Way to jump in with both feet with 980ti classies!
Definitely overclock them if you have not already. Should be able to see at least an increase of 25%, maybe more with the classies. thumb.gif

My top card runs a good 12 degrees hotter than the bottom card. I want to get my setup how I want it at stock clock speeds and then I will try to overclock. I used the K boost briefly and it increased the speed quite a bit. I just have to keep an eye on temperatures.

I have been able to run star wars battle front maxed out at 75 FPS. The gpu optimization in that game is great.
