STOCKHOLM - Oct. 29, 2015 - Paradox Interactive, a global games developer and publisher, today announced the acquisition of White Wolf Publishing from CCP Games in an all-cash deal. Now a subsidiary of Paradox Interactive, White Wolf Publishing is a licensing business that owns and manages intellectual properties including World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Led by CEO Tobias Sjögren, former EVP of Business Development at Paradox, White Wolf Publishing will operate as an independent entity with a dedicated team.

Looks like after stopping on the World of Darkness title, CCP games have sold White Wolf. I know it's a sore point of many of us, especially us 'old fart' Pencil and paper jockies that started with White Wolfs first ed of Vampire.

I just hope they'll be able to get a game out of the door before I hit 90!

Never heard of White Wolf but I have heard of CCP of course. I didnt know they owned anything other than the EVE stuff. Still, sucks to hear anyone being acquired by Paradox. Every game I have ever seen from Paradox Interactive has been buggy and unpolished, though some can still be fun to play for short periods.

Well at least they're a publisher and not a developer. Cities Skylines hasn't been bad. Only one DLC/ Expansion. Lots of people seem to like Magika too although I couldn't get into it. Either way, apart from EvE Online, CCP hasn't been able to do anything. They cancelled the WoD MMO everyone was waiting for, so I guess it's better off in the hands of somone else that would at least release something.

Vampire the Masqurade Bloodlines is a cut-classic as well as being the first non-valve game to use the source engine. I still love playing it even now, shame Activison did what they always do and pretty much abandoned it after release. frown.gif

Paradox Interactive is actually one of my (if not THE) favorite publishers.
While, yes, they push out a lot of DLC for their games (CK2 and EU4 for example), they are also quite fair about them, imho. Colossal Order (the studio behind Cities: Skylines) adapted that policy for themselves.

PI's DLC is usually accompanied by a patch. And that patch introduces a lot of new functionality into the base game, even if you don't buy the DLC.
That is more than people can say about a lot of other publishers that do DLC. Take something like Mass Effect with it's ridiculous amount of DLC... I don't remember each DLC being accompanied by free content wink.gif

But hey, to each their own - for me, Paradox Interactive is kind of a shining beacon among the landscape of publishers.

Paradox is both a development studio and a publisher. In fact they're great at developing games for their niche of historical strategy games. Games developed by Paradox include Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings and the Hearts of Iron series. Their DLC model isn't as bad as it seems either. They keep developing the games for several years post release and backport many of the features from the DLC to the base game so all players get to benefit from many of the improvements that get added over the years. I'd definitely count them among the good guys alongside CDPR

CCP wasted in last 10 years all profits on making other games aside eve and everything was wasted money

dust514 on ps3 today a dead platform, and eve valkyrie that is supposedly a VR title. well it will be seen, but we have a saying "shoe maker stick to making shoes"

seems CCP is wasting money on other games and is terrible at it

Played Dust 514 for over 6 months, the people coding that game were bad( CCP Shanghai ). People that called out the poor job of coding got called racist, even by one of the heads of the game. The game had so many issues that should of never existed( people getting stuck to walls and not able to go down pathways because they were like velcro ) and it is too bad, because I loved the concept of the game. The game is now apparently making money though.

Hopefully this means we can get a new Vampires remaster with proper 1080p support, along with the unofficial patch being implemented into an official release.
