Every two seconds a smartphone screen shatters, and what’s worse, according to a recent survey, roughly one-in-five users are currently using a device with a cracked or shattered screen.

Enter the new Moto X Force, featuring Moto ShatterShield. Billed as the world’s first shatterproof smartphone display, the Moto X Force display is made of an integrated system of five layers which absorb shock from impact and which are guaranteed not to shatter.

Can you imagine the field day the "Phone Testers" on Youtube are going to have with this?

The other day, I saw somebody burn a phone for a phone's "durability" test. They just took a lighter and held it against the screen.

Lord only knows what they'll do with this. lachen.gif

"After cutting the screen with my 10 toughness knife, the display easily shattered from my drop test, this phone sucks"

I personally don't care. I just want a phone that when i falls it does not get scratches, dented, scuffed easily.

It sounds like you should care because this phone fulfills every single one of your requirements. tongue.gif

Nowhere in this article or on the Motorola blog does it state that the display lens is made of glass. They're also covering it with a 4 year warranty against shattering but not against any kind of scratching. This leads me to believe that it may actually be some kind of hardened plastic or other transparent polymer, the downside being reduced scratch resistance and lower clarity.

What about a phone that is easy to replace the digitizer? Now they glue the LCD with the digitizer making it super expensive to replace. Heat gun technique is not so easy especially with shattered glass and is quite risky. I would be so happy if they had glue that under a certain wave-length loses its property, making it extremely easy to change the screen. Basically something to reverse the UV cure of the resin they use.
