They break the screen itself all the time when they dont have a protector on.

I had 3 glass screen protectors of different brands. They all broke within 1 week. 1 drop and they break. This was with case too. I have been using the phone with no screen protector for 10 months now and have dropped it many times and the screen has been fine. Yes they will protect the phone but only 1 time but are much easier to break. By the time you replace 3-4 of them you have spend more money then replacement screen costs lol.

Ya, they protectors do break with 1 drop and need replacing. IDK about breaking even at just 4 protectors though, They usually cost $7-8 each and a new screen is always $100-150 here where I am.

I agree with what you are saying but it would still be nice if they could develop a screen that could be slid across the floor without getting scratched up beyond all reason. Its probably not possible but I still would love somebody to make it a reality some day.

You can. It's just more expensive. You have to use the same material used on the camera lens cover. Sapphire glass.

The thing on this phone is that it is not using glass. Many videos out there where the screen will dent in visibly, but still no cracks ( shatters). Now with it being polymer based, it would need to bend at excessive angles to actually get it to crack. Like a cd persay. The phone will die to shock of the hardware before the screen will succumb to (cracks/ shattering) from what I have seen.

Wife got the phone two days ago due to her inherent ability to crack screens, none were more than 3 feet or so and one was slipping from hand and flipping over to the face where it caught the corner if the nightstand from about 3-5 inches and hit wood to make it more painful. If this phone will let me not have to deal with her cracking of screens I'm all for it.

PS GS4 cracked 3 times, 3 different devices, and Droid Turbo 1 was the nighstand debacle.

I will say the screen does look very good, better than Droid T 1 since it has AMOLED. I also noticed that the screen can very slightly feel like you could use enough pressure to see the flex in the main covering. This does seem more like a flexible display. As long as she doesn't crack / shatter I'm good with it.

The more I look at that phone the more I would like one. I have Droid T 1 . I really like the inclusion of SD card slot. Will see on the battery, which was my main draw to the maxx turbo series to begin with.

Any questions please quote me for email notification.

Afaik the phone in the OP is identical to the turbo 2 , albeit an international version.

Does it seem like there is a gap between the glass and the actual lcd? Some reviews said there was, similar to very early touchscreens.

I cannot see a difference, I have good eyesight. I can say the display appears better than last years Turbo 1

I still have both devices.

BTW this gap between the glass I think is overexagerated ( sp just woke up). Since it appears that there is a flexible lcd under their layers. According to the hammer video.
I would think the GG$ layer would actually be thicker than the moto version of their set up. In short NO their is no perceived depth of field to the display.

Yes but i think the tech would have improved some over the year. I got update 5.1.1 that managed to changer the color profile to make the display washed out on colors, took me two weeks to figure out what they changed on it. It actually drove me to pick up a nexus 6 but there are some of the moto features that I came to miss on the N6.
