Installing new GPU and Driver , my first time ever.

Hey guys , I think I have things figured out on how to do this correctly but I had a couple questions before I proceed. I DL'd the 15.8 driver and also the DUU and have all the steps written down.

Should I uninstall my old driver with the DUU first , turn off my computer , install new card , start back up in safe mode and then do a clean install of the 15.8 driver?

Do I have the steps correct?

Never done this before. In fact I've never even updated my old AMD driver from a couple years ago because I didn't want to mess something up.

Info on My rig here : Running Win 7 Ultimate. Using two - 7970's in cfx and replacing those with a new Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X card.

Any tips or suggestions?

Well I think I did it correctly! I ditched both the 7970's and am now a proud owner of an R9 Fury! Installed 15.7 driver and everything seems to be running smoothly. Going to check out some of my race sims which were taxing my single 7970 ( the don't run well on crossfire ).

Maybe I'm imagining thing , but the colors just look more vibrant? On my 7970's I was running an older driver 7.2xxx?? It was a 2013 driver I think. Now I'm not so scared of updating to the next new drivers! Learned a lot today by doing this.

I am so freakin' impressed by this new R9 fury card!!

My old 7970's running on old drivers didn't even come close to what this card is doing in my machine right now. In rFactor 2 with my 7970's , I couldn't get about 16 - 25 FPS coming out of the pits , and maybe hit between 25 and 50 fps on the track in low traffic ( Usually between 20 - 35 fps ). This new R9......pushing about 60 - 75 FPS coming out of the pits , with any where from 75 - 110 FPS on the track , in traffic! Silky smooth! I haven't seen it fall below 60 fps and most of the time stays up around 90 fps!

Coming from a race sim guy , this card is the bee's knee's man! Looks so damn good on my new Acer 34" 3440 X 1440 monitor too!

I'm in racing heaven right now!

Glad I took the time today to learn how to uninstall old drivers and install new ones correctly. I'm not going to fall that far behind again ever. Lesson learned.
