Should I get AMD R9 390 now or wait next-gen graphics card?

Thread Starter
I currently have AMD 7950 3GB version and I was thinking of upgrading to AMD R9 390. I can get 390 for around £225, which I think is a good price. But someone told me to wait for the next gen graphics card from AMD. So what should I do? Should I buy the R9 390 or for £225 or wait for the next gen?

Considering that the 3xx series was just released a few months ago, waiting for the next gen of AMD cards means you will probably be waiting for ~2-3 yrs. If you need a new GPU now, get one now. If not, don't. There will always be a "next gen" card around the corner no matter when you buy...

I'd wait, scuttlebut is next year for Arctic Islands and a 7950 is still decent especially overclocked.

Or sell the 7950, buy that 390 and rinse and repeat next year. Im in a similar situation with my 780, itching to get rid atm biggrin.gif

if your games are fine with the 7950, keep it. the upgrade to 2016 cards is way better
