Rampage V Extreme - 5960x At 4.6 GHZ And Corsair Vengence LPX At 8x16GB at 2666MHZ.

Got 4.6 stable, updating thread. biggrin.gif

Here is my BIOS settings for my 'J' batch 5960x at 4.6 GHZ and Corsair Vengence LPX At 8x16GB at 2666MHZ. RealBench and HCI MemTest stable.

The timings on the memory are good at 13-13-14-33 1T.

I bought the 'J' batch CPU because they are well known to get higher clocks at lower voltages then other 5960x's. If you are going to buy one really try to find a 'J' batch. I phoned local stores and had them check the batch numbers on the boxes. if it starts with 'J' really great chance you'll get a good overclocker. If you don't have a 'J' batch and can't get 4.6 with these settings try 4.5 or 4.4 GHZ, you'll still be doing well. biggrin.gif

Edit: Raised Voltages a bit. Now Folding@Home stable as well. smile.gif

Zip file with all screenshots. 4.6GHZStable.zip 4202k .zip file

My experiment with Adaptive/Offset at 4.6GHZ/4.4GHZ cache failed. redface.gif

That's pretty good, 4.6ghz under 1.3V. I was really happen with my 4.4ghz @ 1.246V but that's more impressive.

What stress test did you use?

RealBench 2.41 and HCI MemTest. And many hours of gaming without a crash. Been running this about three months now. I did make sure my 5960x batch number started with 'J' as I had heard J batch 5960x's overclock well with lower volts. thumb.gif

Edit.: I have my cache stable at 4.4 GHZ at 1.246v tested with AIDA Extreme stability test. biggrin.gif

Can you check with your setting stable with Prime95 version 27.9 custom bench 1344k as this guide? Because from realbench to prime95 27.9 need around 0.03Vcore bump with my current system

Not sure I want to run Prime95. I hear it can kill a 5960x. frown.gif

Try occt large data set. It doesn't get hot but will bluescreen if the overclock is unstable.
